Yes, but I meant when she tweeted "It just might happen earlier than I thought..." she may have just wanted to get it off her chest, without Japanese people asking her. The "RIP" was later, so I don't know what you're trying to get at.

I think the average Japanese High School graduate has enough knowledge of English to translate or get the gist of a simple sentence like "It just might happen earlier than I thought...". Those are simple words that are used to construct sentences.

Well, not really. Japanese retain very little English after high school unless they use it everday...

^Well, I said "if" in my initial post. I don't really know, I was just making up a possible reason for her to have used both Japanese and English to talk about a single subject. Just because Ayu doing that in general, not about this specific topic, could make sense.

Perhaps the two tweets are connected, like some people have mentioned. I do believe that could be possible. Who knows, in Ayu's case, perhaps she didn't expect anyone else close to her dying anytime soon. Nobody expects death, but perhaps in her case, it was just too soon, "Earlier than expected".
