Ayumi sent video messages to accept their awards before though. She won 3 times in a row for "Bestselling Asian Artist"

really? i don't remember that... were they translated?

anyway, i still don't understand how these awards are so big but they handled the facebook page so poorly.

The whole thing looks cheap & fishy. Even their website is really poorly made, looks cheap and barely works

Ayu has won it a couple of times, but has never bothered to appear and perform.

I can't shake the feeling that this is somehow a joke. Don't get me wrong as I love Ayu and her music but I wouldn't consider her for this award. It's Best Selling Asian Artist 2012 not Best Artist. Unless she is nominated for her overall sales which are amazing. Correct me if I am wrong in my facts though!

You think all other artists in that list are legit ?

Christina Aguillera, J-lo, Susan Boyle, Selena Gomes, Shy'm, Hyuna maybe other but I don't know all singers in that list but Ayu has nothing to envy in terms of sales IMO ^^

^wow, thanks! i kind of understand since i pronounced namie's name incorrectly for a LOOOONG time, but i feel like they should make sure everyone knows how to correctly pronounce names before saying them...

a lot of people don't know how to pronounced it so it doesn't matter.
I more annoyed that paris hilton announced her lmao.

I heard of the vma's for the first time because it was announced that namie was going to perform.
they might be unprofessional but is so awesome that my favorite asian artist are nominated ^>^

I was able to get to the webiste but have no idea on how to even vote if it's even possible. When I click on something it just brings up a bigger image.

They're definitely no Grammys but alot of big names show up to be awarded and party with the Prince, and I'm not just referring to European, African or Asian (Arab, East Asian etc) but I remember Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Michael Jackson attending. Those are hardly irrelevant celebrities.

Nelly Furtado also accepted awards and performed in 2006 - at her peak when nobody in the world was as huge as her.
