Do the JE artists have a bone to pick with Perfume or something? Every single single Perfume has released in recent memory has been blocked from the #1 by some JE release or another...

I feel that it's an downright extremely big irony for you to make this statement , especially since YOU yourself post in Johnny's threads in the Artistes & Bands sub forum

If this somewhat meaningless issue bug you so much , why not you personally go & send an email to Johnny-san & request him not to ask his groups to release their singles/albums on the same week as your fave artiste ?

If not , then just don't focus on Oricon , simple as that . You don't need Oricon to tell you that your fave artiste has to get #1 for all the releases they put out as it's an ego thing at the end of the day

And for the record , BREAKERZ has went up against Johnny's many times in the past & NONE of their releases has ever gotten #1 for the last 6 years (at least Perfume has some #1's in their discography) but am I bummed about it ?

HELL NO cos I know in my heart , they're #1 to me with them being my most fave artiste & that's all it matters

Okay, I understand about that. But yes, I'm just not liking this situation. I have to be honest - I mean, why would I be complaining about Johnny's denying #1 for the others?

I do like Perfume a bit, as well as some Johnny's groups (but not SMAP, the one facing against Perfume this time), just to be honest, but I just don't know why we are in a world like this...

I also focus on Sayuri Sugawara and Yanawaraba, but unlike the past few years, they have not been doing well on the charts position-wise, but yes, I do like them. I just don't know why I'm complaining about the BIGGER acts (such as Johnny's, Perfume, etc.) on top most of the time when I talk about the Oricon compared to the smaller ones like Sayu and Yana that I am more interested over the past year or so...

That's the thing . You're basically answering yourself with another question that I don't have the answers for

For the record , SMAP is not named as the best selling Johnny's of all time (at this point still) for nothing . They're still going very strong from 1991 until now

Japan still supports them even up to now . I don't listen to them but I wouldn't deny just how much of an influence they've set for their younger counterparts

There're tons of artistes who have not been selling/charting/doing well on Oricon , not just Sayuri Sugawara and Yanawaraba

There're others who're genuinely more interested on what's going on in Oricon , who's coming out with new releases & etc . For your case , complaining for the sake of complaining will not solve anything (let alone whining that Perfume will not get #1 this week cos of SMAP) & it's a complete waste of time doing it too

And F.Y.I , Tegomass will not be getting #1 next week when they release Sayonara ni Sayonara cos of ARASHI . Will you be whining about that this coming week too ?

Popular idol group, AKB48 have achieved their 11th consecutive million-selling single (out of 12 overall) with their 30th single, "So long!" Watanabe Mayu is the centre for the first time with this single. Besides AKB48, only Mr.Children and Utada Hikaru have reached the million mark in the first week in the singles chart. This is their 17th consecutive no.1 single since their 14th single, "RIVER" (October 2009), updating their own record of the most consecutive no.1 singles by a female group. This is also their 10th consecutive single to sell over 1 million in the first week since "Everyday, Kachuusha" (May 2011).

In the albums chart, singer MISIA has reached the top spot with her 15th anniversary best album, "Super Best Records -15th Celebration-." It has been 8 years and 8 months since she last topped a single or album chart with ballad best album, "MISIA Love and Ballads" (June 2004). This album includes 15th anniversary special track, for a total of 45 songs overall, digitally remastered. The DVD in the Limited Edition includes 15 years of performance digest.

Meanwhile, singer-actor, Takizawa Hideaki has topped the music-DVD chart with "Takizawa Kabuki 2012." This is his 9th consecutive no.1 music-DVD since "DREAM BOY" (August 2004), updating his own record as a soloist with the most no.1 music-DVDs, a tie with Koda Kumi. Footage for this DVD was filmed from his "Takizawa Kabuki 2012" stage musical at Tokyo Nissei Gekijou held in April to May last year, with a total of 40 performances overall, which he directed himself. A total of 42 Johnny's Jrs were also involved in the performances.

For the record , TOKIO & V6 are the 2 exceptional Johnny's in which not all their releases they put out , all will hit #1
