A BEST LIVE TOP 50 -Voting results-

While I'm extremely excited to see monochrome and kanariya...WTF at half this list.

Boys & Girls, Trauma, evolution? Even worse, meaning of love and You & Me? You & me has been so over killed at this point.

UGH I guess GUILTY will never be performed live. But I'm still shocked and excited to see monochrome!

Most of the songs are like, "oh my God what are they doing there?" but whoa kanariya!

This -clearly- sets a fine line between the best ayu songs and the songs I want to see in concert.

I would not worry, because I believe the description before the list says "we will decide the setlist(s) based on this list of 50 songs" so nothing will be excluded... but at the same time, it's possible that there were some songs she was going to do before the fan vote that she also stuck in the setlist as an intro/finale or something.

So at some point we will definitely get kanariya FINALLY.

Nice list, I'm sure the performances will be great. I did notice that there is at least one song from each album represented here, except for Party Queen (how sad).

im sure LOVE again songs were added by avex themselves. Missing and snowy kiss were in CDL so its gd they're not repeated. (just wondering what happened to Sweet scar, petal and Bye-bye darling..I think they fit into the list of songs that can delivery amazing and memorable performances)

Why not people see it this way? If there are LOVE again songs, then chances are the tracklist will BE surrounded in these 50 songs. And having evolution and the typical hype songs would also means, the OTHER songs would get sung in the main section more frequently.

I mean, if those AYU-CONCERT-MUST-HAVES are not inside, and instead are other songs people have chosen, then the chances of having all these songs appearing throughout this tour is lesser.

yea, its a pity there arnt many rock songs but Japanese pop music fans arnt THAT big fans of rock songs anyway. The songs on the list have a classic ayu and J-pop sound which shouldnt be that surprising anyway (since most of the more generic songs are pretty much dissed by some here).

I just feel that a 15th Anniversary tour should have Ayu and her classics. Not Ayu and oh-so-rare songs.

Not that it matters, but I found interesting that (miss)understood is hardly represented in this top 50, not to mention many of the newer albums, excluding LOVE again, which ended up with quite a few songs in there! Poor Party Queen!! lol

I'm totally thrilled that kanariya and no more words made it in. Yahoo!

I like looking at the breakdown of how many songs were chosen off each album...thank god there aren't any songs off PQ (I detest that album) and I'm glad there's only one song from NEXT LEVEL/Love songs/GUILTY. NEXT LEVEL, for me, had excellent single tracks but the overall delivery fell short of what I would have expected from an Ayu album. It has some of her weakest album tracks to date, IMO, along with Love songs. GUILTY probably falls somewhere in the middle for me--I didn't think the album was very strong when it came out, but it's grown on me over the years.

I wish we had more songs from (m)u, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

Honestly though, aside from the LOVE again additions, the chosen songs were pretty much guessed. That's not a bad thing though, at least we'll actually be receiving 'A BEST'.

Another (possibly controversial) question: Do people actually believe that kanariya is 'A BEST' material, or do they just want it to be seen performed live once? XD

And there's no way 'kanariya' is one of her best songs, I think everyone just wants a performance of it (finally) after 10+ years.

I think that kanariya is the exception here. It can't be really included as the best of because it has never been performed, so it counts as an old song which people want to see live once and for all, since it is the only single that's been neglected until now!! Such a long time

I don't know if she can pull it off with those really high notes, but I'm sure they'll do their best to make it sound good if they include it in the final setlist

Similar case with ever free I guess, I'm not sure how this song ended up in the top 50, but I think it would be one of the best songs that they can include, because it is pretty nostalgic, it would be interesting listening to ayu singing it now with her current voice, and also because the lyrics are so damn powerful and touching, I could totally see her opening her heart and making everybody emotional.

But omg, she just has so many songs... even a top 50 can't make her justice, and she can't perform 50 songs every night too, so the setlist must be really hard to pick this time! They don't have an album theme but an A BEST theme, so they made a good choice in letting fans help them!

I guess the trilogy should be back someday again I don't want them to overkill it.

Actually, I think it would have been very interesting to seen what Ayu would have chosen if there hadn't been a fan vote!

There would have still been SEASONS, M, BLUE BIRD, etc.
But there probably would have been a lack of rarer songs like kanariya and no more words.
A counter-argument though is that there probably would have been other songs possibly worthy of A BEST such as Mirrorcle World, BRILLANTE, Duty and Free & Easy and so on may have made it in the end.


This is a really interesting reflection of the A BEST 3 theory though. There's hardly any representation from Secret to LOVE again...

I agree on the most part; this forum has really been a true testament to the 'I just want to see songs that haven't been performed often/never performed' regardless of whether or not they are considered great songs in Ayu's discography or not. Which has kind of backfired on a few songs, but we can't have it all. xD


On A BEST 3 though, one has to wonder if Avex did in fact add the LOVE again songs to continue promoting the album, and if so, then I wonder why they wouldn't have shoved a few more recent songs in there (to help promote that if it was to be released sometime this year).

The signs point towards no A BEST 3 (at least not this year).

That sounds so conspiracy theorist. xD
