^I feel the same about her photoshoots. Ironically, I've found most of the outfits from this era really tacky. The Go to the top ones were messy as hell, and the gangsta style on the Summer Trip events weren't my cup of tea either. She only got me at the Color the Cover perfomances.

Music-wise, she's been playing safe so far. Go to the top was a bit out of her zone, but it was pretty generic for a Japanese release. Koishikute... Well, lol. Summer Trip was a bit bland as well, TOUCH DOWN probably being the most different song from hers in a while. On the other hand, I've enjoyed all songs so far, which is rare, since there's always that one a-side I hate to death. We may not end up getting a mind-blowing amazing new album, but I feel that, at least, it'll be a consistent one.

For now, gotta wait for the PV and CD Only cover to decide on which version to get.

^That's for sure the CD+DVD cover? Well, I guess that's how it was for Summer Trip when previews were released.

EDIT: Also, I love that the title of the single is ended with an exclamation point.

^I haven't been following her tour outfits and such but i can see that the reception hasn't exactly been great lol. I personally liked most of the covers, Summer Trip was hot but in a messy tramp kinda way and i loved the GTTP covers.

And yeah i agree completely with your statement, safe is the word i was looking for. But Kuu's always been pretty damn safe and released the same over and over again, however that's one of things i love about her, you know what to expect. The problem right now is just that they aren't up to par with her songs in the same style, she can do better. The albums seems to be decent so far tho, nothing spectacular but really enjoyable.

With that said, i need her to drop something like Ecstasy again. That song was A+ hotness and never gets old, it was such a cool mixture of genres.

Go To The Top was too rocky for my liking, Koishikute was really pretty but also a very "by the book" ballad. This is more or less how I feel. She's had some very good songs since her comeback, but nothing amazing yet. I can't even remember the last time I got the urge to listen to GTTT or Koishikute, and even Summer Trip didn't get the usual ridiculous amount of listens out of me that her summer singles get. Though JAPONESQUE and 4TIMES and everything else have been consistently in my rotation, lol.

Dreaming Now sounds, yeah, generic. Not bad, but... forgettable.

Oops, I messed up a bit my words. The outfits I meant were for the TV and summer lives For the covers photoshooting they were really good, Go to the top may even be among my favorite shoots of hers, even if it's just her FACE WITH RED STRIPED ALL OVER it was pretty well done and she looked beautiful.

Actually I wouldn't call Kuu's releases for this album cycle safe. Not entirely.
Go To The Top was dubstep, something new and it was her "comeback" single, where everybody expected a ballad. Koishikute surely was and with Summer Trip she had a mix of old formula (LaLaLaLaLa) and something new (Touchdown). Is This Trap? and Dreaming Now! sound very, very western. I mean, her songs always had somethin western to them, but those are somehow different than before.
It will be interesting to see how they want to combine the more japanese sounding stuff like GTTT and Koishikute with the more western sounding in the album.
And how many ballads will be there? For now we just have one. And with Bring it on now to be expected on the album... I'd love another album with less ballads!

'Dreaming Now' doesn't grab me at all. It sounds rehashed in a way.

This whole era of hers leaves me wanting more. Everything sounds stale and doesn't deliver. I've haven't felt such disconnect in this many consecutive releases from Kuu, single wise, since her "feel my mind" days.

I just hope her next album will deliver as a whole.

you guys are nuts, the whole Summer Trip single was amazing! (I'm still blasting it on stereo like no tomorrow)
but ia I'm not feeling this new song. since it's a theme song for a volleyball tournament I guess avex wanted to play it safe (like Go to the top x Muv-Luv Alternative)
will wait for the full thing though and obviously the b-side since some of her b-sides are ffff great and sometimes even better than the a-side

Yeah, they use (仮) after the title. Ai no uta and All for you live versions have it on the title btw.
