We are talking about a person, who releases an album titled Rock'n'Roll Circus, which all in all only includes like two rock songs and says it is titled like that, because every song she sings becomes a rock song.
So I wouldn't be surprised if the covers were something completely different to what everyone assumes. Even to the extent that they wouldn't fit the title on first look.

Really? I want to read that interview but I really agree with Ayu, withouth doubt rock'n'roll is her watermark for me.

Rock'n'Roll Circus is the perfect title for her career.

I think it was less about genre and more about attitude. Even if it's a sweet ballad it becomes rock because she sings it?
I can't remember where she said it, sorry. I hope I didn't get it completely wrong. O_o It was like six years ago afterall.

I'm also glad that she didn't choose Summer Love to have a PV. She has enough PVs for summer songs.

Something weird and dark like don't look back would be great for flower imo. Just smth with a twist. And for Mad World I somehow envisioned people that are standing still like frozen in time and ayu just runs through them and begs at them "Oshiete yo ne.." and at the end she's in front of herself and breaks down or smth like that.

^^ i probably wouldn't want her to use them either, but i have to say no matter what they usee it's always just a miss for me. I'm not sure why but Japan has this tendency to go all out on one thing and just scrabble the rest in 5 minutes. Sometimes if not for the actual original professional photoshoots, i couldn't even tell it wasn't fan made lol Logos are a whole other story though, they weren't doing such a bad job on those but some are MAJOR fails too~

I think she has made an excellent choice this time as I think those are the best 2 tracks on the album. Plus this should rule out any chances of us getting a relationship gone wrong/love video for any of the two

She did. Even though I believe You are the only one would have made amazing potential for a PV, I'm glad she has chosen to avoid doing any ballad PVs. Her last several albums have been riddled with ballad PVs. While they're nice, it's time for a change of pace. Both of these songs are different from a lot of what's appeared on her last several records. They'll make for good promotional material.

In fact, the music videos filmed in the UK are cold, and seem to possess a deep, meaningful worldview. The album title brings all the tracks to a higher level, and links them to AYU.

“Traditional Japanese, ethnic, European… With all these different sounds mixed together, it’s like a circus. And when I sing, they become rock. Rock is a very wide genre, and can include lots of different types of songs, but when I sing, it becomes rock. For example, even if I dress up in a girly manner like today and sing a ballad, rock will still be rock. And because rock exists in my soul, it will be reflected in whatever I do. The new album’s title “Rock’n’Roll Circus” reflects something interesting, scary, sad, weird, and a whole bunch of others mixed together. And that is what I think Rock&Roll is about.”
