The reason behind this is obvious: They signed a contract with oversea distributors and to be sure that both are winner they banned exportation. It's a logic decision as 95% of animes per season are now available via legal platforms, the products are just following the same path.

Phew my god I am so relieved that the ban doesn't extend to Avex Trax and their subsidiaries! Sorry I doubted you Avex!

Want to update on the situation here: Now it turns out my Ayaka Blu-ray that I ordered...now it says future orders will be shipped within Japan only. Ugh. (>_<)

Fortunately I ordered before the restriction happened, so this only appiles to new orders. But I'm disappointed how this export ban is affecting Blu-ray or DVD releases of Avex music artists, not just anime... (Ayaka publishes via Avex, just to let you know.)

I'm not sure how this will affect my future Ayaka Blu-ray orders in the future or anyone trying to order up any DVD/Blu-ray involving an Avex artist, e.g. Ayu or Koda Kumi... (At least it's not affecting my 'Kotonoha' single, but still this is concerning to us fans of Avex artists such as Ayu or Kuu trying to buy new Blu-rays/DVDs...)

Reference: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/AKXO-90052

Spoiler:
(But is this export ban as bad as the recent electronics ban [e.g. laptops, tablens] for flying certain flights to/from the Middle East, e.g. USA? Hmm...)

EDIT: Question ~> does this ban restricted to Tenso as well?

W Face -outside- [CD+Blu-ray] [Shipping Within Japan Only]
Kumi Koda

I saw this on cdjapan.co.jp site, they don't send this version anymore. But for Inside CD+Blu-ray are not a restriction for now. I'm confused, it seems like they start to ban the music slowly.

This is disgusting. I can't believe how in the world export restrictions are being placed not just in Japanese anime but now actual J-pop releases... Even Vision Factory releases (e.g. Fairies, Mariya Nishiuchi) get hit by the ban...

Right now only the Super Best Tour DVD/Blu-ray is affected among Ayaka releases, and so far I haven't seen any Ayu or even Kis-My-Ft2 releases affected by the ban, but I'm quite surprised a V6 release is affected! But I have to wonder how the future will hold... I hope the export ban is just temporary, but we'll see, but for now things aren't looking good...

Best Singles Collection DVD and Blu-ray from Koda Kumi are restricted too. For the moment is only a few jpop releases, could be worst. I hope is temporary too.

Yes, Yesasia is the option to buy what you want if it's banned in cdjapan.

That's so odd. I was checking to see how much Otsuka's LOVE HONEY would cost at CDJapan and they send it to the US. It's really strange that only a few products are being afected right now... I wish Avex would clarify that at some point.

Well, this is interesting... A listing for a product that is in pre-order, not anime, and has a "Shipping within Japan Only" notice - and that release is Acid BLOOD Cherry, which is Acid Black Cherry's new album.

WHAAAAAT????? How dare you Avex! This is a rock act, not anime, and it's subject to the new Avex export restrictions?????

(Disclaimer: I don't have any intentions to buy this, but what happens if this comes up on, say for example, future Ayaka releases (since Ayaka, although under the indie "A stAtion" label, currently distributes new releases under Avex)??? WTF is Avex really doing recently since the initial export ban on anime releases???)

^You can try to preorder it on Yesasia, but this is bad for cdjapan, they will loose money if avex don't let them sell the products outside of Japan.

The day when we can't preorder the new ayu's releases we have to spam her asking if she can do something to delete this stupid ban. "Hi ayu, tell me why your fucking record label aren't allow overseas fans to buy your releases on cdjapan, please. Ten2 honey. And left avex baby. Bye"

I think avex are happy milking money from the global TA and selling all the stuff on mu-mo making you spend more money on Tenso. So basically they want you to buy from mu-mo only.

Can we have CDJapan ship to Tenso instead of direct to our oversea address? (I know it would cost more but at least we still can order from CDJapan and they still "honour" the no-oversea-shipment restriction).

^Using neowing you can put a japanese address I think. But you can put a japanese address in cdjapan too. Anyway if you don't want to spend more money buy in Yesasia and Play-asia.

Have anyone checked Amazon or HMV yet? Haven't had time to do so but I'm kind of wondering if they're affected as well (most likely it is?).

I've tried multiple times to order CDs/DVDs by Kuu, Ayu, Namie Amuro from Amazon.jp and have them shipped directly to me here in the states and it keeps giving me an error message when I go to check out.

I am so fucking over this.
