Nonstop megamix. Basically every bop she has with a slow finish. She really does have quite a lot of 'intense' tracks that can fit any scenario if you want them to. I even forgot talkin' 2 myself/Rule/Sparkle!

I don't think it gets the credit that it deserves, its a solid song from start to finish with a perfect build-up. I prefer it to Progress. Even if Progress is beautiful it feels disjointed and almost like the guitars are a little soft in it for me...

Colours is odd for me because I love nearly each track individually but as a whole package it just fell flat to me. The songs you guys are mentioning I loooooooove, but I just don't like the album itself. (Yeah, I know. That's weird. xD)

^Same regarding Secret. I enjoy quite a few tracks on it but as an album it's probably my least favorite. It just doesn't come together well in my mind and most of her album's afterwards were much better packages to me.

I'm happy to see so many people like what is forever love! I love it a lot but I remember seeing people complaining about it, so I thought it wasn't well received.

You're right. Now that I think of it, theres a pattern


It makes me think of how the first time I heard Ayu I didn't like her, and then I gave her another shot later on where I thought- "omg? what was wrong with past me?"

Colours > anything else and that has been my opinion since the day one we got it, before that my ultimate favourite was Love songs

only songs that i don't find perfect are XOXO and Pray, Pray is good but doesn't fit for the album at all. NOW & 4EVA is so different from everything else on Colours but it has the same feeling on it somehow. Terminal, Lelio and Merry-go-round and in my TOP10 ayu songs ever

i wish she would have stayed on that path for a little longer

I haven't been following Ayu for quite a few month and not really intensely listening to her either. I'm still on my one-year-namie-mourning-trip but I could need another dose of Ayu soon. I listened to WORDS like ten times and that was it. is there anything - a hint or a glimpse of her working on something. I really fear she might not be able to record anymore quite soon.

^I believe this happens because:

1) She is always changing directions, so, she never really releases whatever people are expecting from her at the moment. She did some weird dance-rock track last? This time she will release something super generic and them she will full EDM. This can be a little alienating.

2) A ONE and (half of?) LOVE again being the exception, she experiemented a lot more since NEXT LEVEL or even RNRC than she did from Memorial Address to GUILTY. There are lots of those tracks that don't stick to your mind immediately after the first listen, like tons of her biggest hits did, and people sometimes don't take their time to digest the release before forming an opinion. They mistake "not loving it on the first listen" with "disliking".

For me I usually like Ayu's new releases. Then Party Queen happened and it was the first time I heard something by Ayu I didn't like. I grew distant from her during this time. But all the love and again stuff brought me back. I like Colours but I'm still glad that's over. I didn't want Ayu to become an edm diva. Made in Japan is the only album that I liked right away but now it is one of the least listened too. Sometimes I forget those songs exist. But the arena tour was wonderful.
