I was expecting more of her hits when she said she re recorded. The only song that made sense to me is Cutie Honey, but also wanted TAKE BACK, CRAZY 4 U, Butterfly, real Emotion, you, Someday (or WIND) and Ai no Uta too, you know, the first songs that came at you when think of Koda Kumi ; m ;

I feel a bit dissapointed.

Listening to the regular version tracklist, I think it’s a good sum up of her 20 years, despite some missing songs.
Noticed Bon Voyage is the only album not represented in that version (with DNA that only included one single). Quite surprising considering how re(CORD) is present!
Not a fan of Go to the top but I thought they would include it as it was her last #1 Oricon single.

Edit : BUT is seriously missing. Quite surprised they skipped it. It’s one of her biggest live anthem and most seen PV.

Dunno what to think and still dunno if I’m stuck with the regular version on hmv (I’m here defending them and they do this wrong -_-)…

I know I said that I knew I would be let down but… if she had only switch the new versions for the Ogs i wouldn’t be mad! At least it would be hace been different and there’d have been more space for other hits or one cd alone.

And LiT????? I mean it’s not bad but at least I hope she fixed the rap part.

Wow very shocked BUT is missing from the regular version. What could be the reason? "LAST ANGEL" and "girls" being missing from the 8CD version is also a bit disappointing. And I like the re-recorded song choices (besides LIT), but would've also liked "you" and another song from Black Cherry.

Overall, I'm not too mad about it. Best albums are pretty much obsolete in the streaming age. I'm buying mostly to support and commemorate Kuu's 20th.

I think that is why they should put more effort in it. Otherwise just do playlists on streaming services.

And yeah, you're right, at the end of the day it's very rare to have best albums with actually incredible content, I think namie was the one who always made some great compilations, having even recording PVs for old songs in Ballada. But when it comes to Kumi, it's not that much of a deal indeed.

Still BUT is quite often performed live and is much more popular than love across the ocean, D.D.D. or LIT. I don’t even talk about the PV in YouTube that has quite good numbers for her standards (725K to date).
I agree with Jean Baptiste, this is the most shocking missing song on the regular edition.

Seeing the reCORD number of tracks convince me the initial project for that year was surely to release the best of. It’s also interesting to see Kumi include old songs with reworked melody from re(Live) Tours (Cutie Honey & DDD supposedly).

TBH, I wasn't expecting much from this release. However, like many of you I'm also surprised "BUT" isn't included. I did also think there would be more new re-recordings and I'm super happy to see "SO FEVER" and "NEVER GIVE IT UP" are getting an official release now. I'm actually hoping that she'll perform them live soon. I absolutely love both songs. Plus I'm also hoping that this release might mean that at some point avex will add the MVs officially to YouTube.

Also, I never knew so many people didn't like LIT. I was addicted to it from first listen. lol

At least WALK OF MY LIFE -BEST～2000-2020～ ver. sounds GOOOOD, more orchestral and I LOVE IT.

It there was ever a place to release Take Back from the 10th anniversary tour this was it... u_u please ku, take back LIT

I just thought „I hope she never sings Ai no Uta“ again. I think there is a point in careers where artist should abandon certain songs. It’s definitely Ai boi Uta that should be one of them.

As for the first take: it’s only for Sony artists. But both Miliyah and Mika Nakashima have chosen their „Ai no uta“. Why do I wanna hear Aitai or Yuki no Hana in it’s 4000 rendition.

It is much cooler, in my opinion, to do songs that surprise or need more love. Miliyah did that with her secret be song (Hontou Watashi…)


I‘d rather have Kumi sing Koshikute, Ai wo tomonaide or something more personal and current like RUN.

It's a Sony project, but no, they also invite artists from other labels. They already had a bunch from avex e.g.
They just tend to do the more current popular artists from other labels, while being broader with their own artists.

And I actually think the regular edition of Kuu's best is pretty nice having 5 re-recorded songs and also having a 20 page booklet now.
While I am a bit sad they haven't put something more on the FC Blu-Ray, I expected the CD content like that and the BR has all the HD PVs and the Pachinko PVs, so I'm fine.

Oh cool didn‘t notice. Maybe YouTube just shows me the Sony label artists. Still standing behind the fact it should not be Ai no Uta lol

Ai no uta has already become her signature song, she'll never drop it lol Of course she can perform ton of other stuff during tours and such, but when it's for the general public, at this point in her career it'll probably be way more positive for her to perform Ai no uta than a recent single. It bothered me back in 2010 and such when she used to sing it on TV, but nowadays I am glad that song stick to the public and she has a way to connect with her audience through it.
