I guess people rely on ayu's music to drown their sorrow and insecurities within it? That actually never happened to me though. I can feel her songs but it's not like i use them for mindhealing, I just listen to them because I think they're cool and I enjoy them (I love her voice and the composition/arrangements of most of her songs). I guess I don't put much thoughts when i listen to music as I do it just for the sake of enjoying it, not to analyze if the singer is an opera singer, if the song is a cover, if they have vibratos, choir, the range of the song, how many octaves it has, whether the song is generic or random, pop or rock. I don't study music and I have no interest in doing it.
Maybe the sudden shift of her producing happier songs makes people egoistically think ayu is driving apart on a different way to enjoy her happiness and forget about them? I'm not guessing, it's just what I've seem from observations of comments of people who can't stand listening to "Beautiful day" just because they are always in a bad mood, and they feel they're being mocked while listening to the song.

I am kind of new to this forum, and I discovered Ayumi Hamasaki only a few months ago. I have known of her existance for many years, but I didn't actually listen to any of her music untill recently. The day I did, I cried. Music has always been important to me, Ayumi gave me a whole new dimension to the word important. During the time that has passed since I listened to her for the first time and now I have been reading up on her career, watching every single tour, everything I've been able to find. At the moment im planning a trip to Japan for the sole purpose to see her live, it is a dream, but it IS possible to realise. I'm holding on to that IS as hard as I can.
I read through most things that are said in this forum, but as you can see on my postcount I rarely post (I think that will change ). I'm active on a few other forums aswell.Well, that's my little introduction, now to what I actually have to say on this topic! I read every single post, and I have to say what you feel greggerz189 REALLY makes sense. Your words were really touching to read for me, because I feel almost exactly the same. To me I think the distance is created because I have the feeling that at the moment Ayumi is not as involved in the making and marketing of herself and her music as she has been. She has also gone through quite a big change herself with her voice maturing, giving her singing a new dimension. I don't think that is bad, I like the change, but it can give a feeling of distance before getting used to her new style, I don't know. Even though she still writes the lyrics, seeing compositions by CREA has become more and more rare, I'm hoping a lot to see more of them on her coming albums/singles. She has, as has already been mentioned, matured in herself too, the Ayumi that was unsure of herself barely exist anymore, atleast thats what I think. Her attitude has changed immensely in just a short period of time. I, as many other here, also think that this is just a period that will pass! Whatever it is that creates this distance to some of us we will push ourselves closer to her, step by step if so needed, because we all love our Ayumi. I don't like any of her albums less than any other. There are a few songs that I do not always feel like listening to, apart from them I feel that all her music supports me through the day and keep my mood up in an equal way. I also really hope that she won't take too long to release her next single ,Martin Last edited by immel; 13th March 2006 at 09:57 PM. |

If they do reach the point where they think Beautiful Day is mocking, I think they might be overanalytical when it comes to Ayu. Or maybe no one's heard of Puffy Amiyumi yet.

I've been pretty distant since Ayu released ourselves, that's the only song I remember being really crazy about. And know what?- I don't really care anymore. She's good to listen to once in a while, but I'm not going to die because I don't listen to her every single minute. I'm used to all her releases with crappy mixes, and all the photoshoots, and commercials, and this and that. After 3 years, it's just not as amazing anymore
There's no need to feel bad about it- if she influenced your life in a good way once, then be happy Things eventually get old.. and that's it (I'm talking about obssessions getting old, not Ayu herself) We still have 50, 60 years of our lives to go thru (hopefully) ..she's not going to be around forever for us to obssess over.

Remember that it's not really Ayu's fault.. technically xD for the tie-ups anyway. Blame the tie-up coordinator! Boo on him!

Well I just went through this period...but I've returned somewhat. The newer stuff just doesn't seem as influential, regardless of whether it is good or not.

i guess i'm like some of the people here .. I'm still crazy about Ayu these days, I tune into all her news, listen to all new songs repeatedly .. but just not as crazy as I was back a year or 2 ago ... my playlist then was 100% ayu .. n nothing else ..
now I'm listening to Kumi and other artists |

It's normal, I guess. I admit that I don't like every single thing that Ayu does but I'm still here.
