For those prices they should be able to have a quickie with him backstage. Individually.

it's still impossible. see, singapore is a very small country, the sponsors can't be sure of how many people will go to her concert and how many people can afford the money.
Average ayu's fans ages are from 14 to 25 years old. these group are mostly students, they don't have the money.
then let's not forget that ayu's pay are VERY high!!!! higher then Rain, and ayu always bring her own team and production team, those cost a lot of money.yes, the cost are highly then Rain. therefore, the tickets WILL be higher then Rain's
secondly, most of Rain's fans here are around 23 to 50 years old. they earn more money, they can afford to go.

because there are lazy Singaporeans who prefer to see Rain here in our little country.

well, in Singapore Rain is more popular then Ayu. the korean craze is VERY strong here.

EDIT: Just want to ask, if the tickets were officially priced at SG$888 or was it because of the limited number of tickets, the highest people auctioned the tickets off was 888?
that is the original price set by the organisation. the following are the other ticket prices

all prices are in Singapore dollars
Standard - S$488, S$388, S$288, S$188.

Still way too expensive. I'm shocked Rain (or any pop singer for that matter) tickets cost so much.
the sponsor had to set the ticket this high.....because they had to get back their cost money.
and Singapore is so small, they won't be able to know how many people can go. and the concert is only for a night.

LacusClyne, thanks for all the interesting info but I don't agree on a few things.

I don't think her payment is bigger than Rain because Rain is a popular act in almost every single country in Asia and organizers would probably do anything to have him to do a concert in their country (and he also have much more experience in worldwide tours, so the organizers are sure the event will sell). He also do concerts in bigger stadiums while Ayu will make her concert in arenas for about 7,000-10,000 people (in another asian countries, that is, not in Japan), and if you do a concert in a stadium you're obviously getting more money than if you're doing in an arena.

Isn't probably cheaper to buy the $800 tickets than paying for a flight ticket + accomodation + transportation + tickets for another concert?

I think he is more popular than Ayu in every Asian country (besides Japan, obviously). He stars in dramas and Kpop is bigger than Jpop in most countries, so...

i kinda misplaced my sentence,
i meant to say that ayu's concert FULL cost(ayu's pay, and her whole team) turns out to be higher then Rain. not to mention ayu's stage costs is already higher then Rain.

yes, it depends.....
sometimes, staying in hotels can be quite costly, unless you stay with someone. that will cut down your costs.
but honestly speaking, if you take the effort to go oversea, you can still have a nice vacation.

yes, he is. i know too many Rain's fans all over Asia.
but since we're talking about the situation in Singapore. i'm just stating he is more popular then ayu HERE.
there are people who know Rain, but not ayu.....

i dun agree that rain is more popular than ayu just bcuz tt the korean craze is super strong now~but most of the people over here are still listening to ayu's music~and i think that ayu is way more popular than rain~please flash back to 2002,where almost everyone over here listen to ayu's music and till now most of them are still buying or listening to ayu's new album...and ayu's new album beats rain and is still on the no.1 spot over here~anywya that's just my opinion, hope i didn't offend anyone..

but also I'm pretty sure not every AYu fan can afford $888 for a concert ticket AYu has a big fan base I know I could never afford that. I'm sure alot of people can't either they shouldn't make the ticks that much they could be way cheaper. This is just a way to make money...

yes, they had to put the tickets price high to get back their money.

and i would like to add in that Rain's concert had sold out 80%.
and that the SD$888 tickets are for VIP ONLY!
the public are only able to get the standard tickets of SD$488, S$388, S$288, S$188.

Lacus - Thanks for your insight into the prices and general info about Singapore's concert sales. I hope it'll stop the "he's stupid" comments. There's a lot of money and work that goes into concerts, especially for big sets for a small tour.

What, so we're not allowed to express our opinions of high concert ticket prices? They're invalid because they don't mesh with your views?

It's fine if you have a valid reason to go along with it. I didn't tell you to not say it, I was hoping to stop it from becoming a thread littered with "Rain is stupid/not popular/etc" posts. It's not the performer's fault that the SG organizers won't import Ayumi's tour for being "too expensive" and they don't set the prices either. The SG$888 I guess is the highest price per ticket but it wasn't the only price.

and the SD$888 price is ONLY for VIP. you won't be able to buy that without contacts.

the most expensive tickets that the public are buying is the SD$488.

i would considered that $488 price kinda reasonable in a small market like Singapore.

and yes, it's kinda hurtful to read things like 'Rain's an idiot'.
let's imagine if the tickets price are for ayu's concert, then Rain's is planning to have a concert here, do you like to see Rain's fans scolding 'ayu's an idoit! why her tickets are so expensive! now our Rain can't come here!'
he's just fortunate to have fans(whom are working) that have the money to go to his concert.
ayu's fans are mostly teenagers, they do not have the money to do so.

@@ wanna faintz reading this...

again, i think LacusClyne has repeated herself many times... S$888 tix is only for people who have contacts. So, generally, the highest price would be S$488 in general.

Well, I am definately not pro-Rain or wutsoever, but wutever price that he set, I dun really give a damn care. If u like him, go ahead; if u dun, why bothered by that? Go for Rain because of his sexy appeal? Well, its just his style. Who cares?! Ayu is sexy too, look at Born to Be single DVD + CD cover, that one makes my nose bleed.

Ayu can also set S$999 tix for VIP, wanna buy is up to u. Anyway, I would definately hope that Ayu will come to Sg one fine day~ May be fans from Malaysia would come to Singarpoe and watch her concert too, I think the organizer had forgotten bout that.

i'm getting sick of people screaming at the price......

yes, i do hope ayu will have another Asia tour and come to singapore.
that's why i'm crossing my fingers hoping that Rain's concert will be a sucess. because this is the first time singapore had such a costly concert, if he sucess. ayu has a chance!
and looking at the ticket sales, it's pretty good! 80% is sold out!
