I'm actually kinda shocked of the numbers of negative comments after I left the forum last nite. It's okay to be skeptical, but saying age differences/marrying a white guy/i'm so done with ayu is pretty rude.

Nobody ever knows how a relationship will go. Either the love dies on the way or last till the end of people's lives. There's nothing wrong if this relationship doesn't work out in the end (which I hope not). At this moment, she's happy and the guy is happy, and there's true love between them. That all matters.

If I were Ayu, I'd be extra careful about things like that too. She has her dogs and all that. Considering her workaholic status, I'm not surprised that she hasn't gotten pregnant (to our knowledge).

In sum: While Beyonce was releasing a secret super album, just in time for the holidays. Ayu got engaged! Oh my you popstars these days.

I'm happy for her. I mean if she is in love, great. I just hope that she knows what she's doing this time around with this relationship in terms of publicity. It's a bad time for the announcement during her single, but really when was she supposed to reveal it? I guess if she went the Janet Jackson route she could just never ever talk about it and deny it.

But that's not Ayu. So I hope she has good luck on the engagement, and that there is a proper wedding and all that. I do think she wants to sort of retire her career but just doesn't know how.

Basically any other time other than now would have been completely okay. The sketchiness of it being around the end of the year (like her other announcements) and the proximity to a release date seem to worry a lot of fans (mainly the Japanese ones) since the months of November/December are basically "Ayu big announcement + CD release" months now.

That's a good point. I just don't see how she can release this info without fans being a bit skeptical because of the whole track record with Mannie and Maro.

The simplest way is: Announce it when she has no releases coming up.

Just about all of her big announcements would always happen in the latter part of the year either in November or December just before she had a CD coming out. (marriage, divorce, deafness in her ear, dating Maro, this engagement)

I wouldn't be surprised if she was obliged (contractually?) to make big announcements when she has releases or something coming up. The entertainment business is a weird and shady place, and the Japanese entertainment business is an even stranger beast.

She has practically released something each month ... and for the rest she was tourning ... I don't want to excuse her because your doubts are legit but her shedule since the begining of her carrier is tight when she makes an announcement there are all the chances that she will releases something soon before or after lol
