Yeah, that is pretty low. But I think it's reasonable considering how much sales have dropped since REAL. But also, this isn't so much an album as it is a BEST disguised as an album, and for her first studio release in years, I think it would have been better if she had more original music we haven't heard on it.

I don't really care though. I've always loved MIKA for her creativity and the overall quality of her albums. TOUGH didn't underwhelm me by much. I just really want her to make a more diverse album next time.

It's a Sony thing . Hirai Ken's last year album also had very little new songs as well and the gap between his last & last year albums was 5 years

Then again SPYAIR is also under Sony but yet their albums have a lot of new songs (at most 6 new album tracks at max) against their single songs so

Waiting so long for a new studio album with only 2 new songs is not acceptable to me . I think cos of this , it hurt Mika's sales considerably

^well, for Mika you know that she puts all songs on it - I still don't get why all of you still listen to them. + her singles don't have that great sales - if it really was about her music, people would by the album anyways.

I'm still glad I only listened to Fighter/gift.

Those sales are bad, but it's quite understandable since they even included songs that were on DEARS, TEARS, and her SONGBOOK. It reminds me of BoA's WHO'S BACK?. It's embarassing to put an album out like that, recycling songs that were previously released in other albums. I feel bad for Mika.

hmm, neither of those are albums in that sense. Two Best-ofs and a songbook that nobody bought. Even Ayu did that (evolution, M).

Sony made a mistake in re-including the same single songs in TOUGH as Ai Kotoba , Boku ga Shinou to Omotta no Wa , Fighter & Gift were already in DEARS & TEARS respectively

If that didn't happen , more new material would definitely be in TOUGH

^I don't think so. Those singles were probably intended for THOUGH and the Best came in-between as Mika wasn't read for the album. if not, they would have released 2-4 more singles and the outcome would have been the same.

The latest CM for Tokyo Metro's 'Find my Tokyo.' campaign features a collaboration song by Nakashima Mika and Salyu titled "Happy Life".

Actress Ishihara Satomi is the face of the 'Find my Tokyo.' campaign, and record producer Kobayashi Takeshi produces its music. In the new CM, Ishihara draws out the charm of Urayasu by enjoying seafood and sea fishing. Nakashima also stars in this CM.

I actually think that's exactly what I'm going to do. It's not like I'm super interested in Mika anyway so I'd be jumping at the opportunity to listen to her singles. Whenever her albums are released it's as if she never released anything, to be honest.

Ahah, I've been a die hard fan for almost 15 years, difficult to resist, especially since I own a website dedicated to her

To be honest, I knew it was going to happen, but I don't see myself waiting 4 years for an album without listening to some new music from time to time. At least it keeps me entertained. I really had hoped they would include more new music, but that's fine if her release pattern is more active following TOUGH.

It's been such a mess, if not chaos, the past few years that it drove a lot of her fans away from her. Which probably explains the very low sales so far..

Plus honestly, TOUGH isn't that good as a whole, the tracklist is messy as hell, even though there are many great songs included. I guess I'll end up buying it but I'm not in a rush atm.

I received my copy of TOUGH today . Real surprised Sony Taiwan included a Chinese translation sheet as they didn't do so for Mika's past albums , until now

CD + DVD cover of TOUGH is a slipcase . The image used on the cover when I take out the slipcase



Most of the photos in the CD sleeves (which's basically 1 long paper instead of the usual CD booklet) are images already seen before but not these

I'm rediscovering my old love for Mika, her last singles are just great, her ballads are the best romantic songs of jpop, in the past I walked away from her because her punk/rock "nana" style that i just can't stand (maybe "glamorous in the sky" is the only one that i can listen)

but after get into "always" "明日世界が終わるなら" "初恋" "愛詞" "花束" and her melodic pop songs like "LONELY STAR" "FOCUS" "Over Load" "Life" I have fallen in her nets again. In the other hand I quit kumi koda and her (acording to me) disposable last 3-4 albums.

what do you think is her best dvd concert? i would like to buy one of them.
