i was in japan when the DOUBLE 10 year best collaborations album was out...and it was GOOD!

btw is DOUBLE one girl? or is it like a group??

^actually they are duet, but her sister had died of blood disease in 1999 if i'm not wrong. its quite sad though...

DOUBLE (ダブル) originally started with two members, sisters SACHIKO and TAKAKO. They both got into music by the influence of their older sister, who, after spending time studying in the United States, brought back some R & B CDs by popular artists at that time. TAKAKO's personal interest in R & B came not from the music, but from watching the music videos by TLC, En Vogue, and Mary J. Blige. After performing some covers in local night clubs, the duo got that chance to audition for For Life Records. In 1998, SACHIKO and TAKAKO formed the duo, "DOUBLE". After having numerous hits, tragedy struck on May 21, 1999 when SACHIKO suddenly passed away. Despite the loss of SACHIKO, TAKAKO refused to let "DOUBLE" fade away, and continued her music career. She has recorded numerous solo albums which some came out to be crowning achievements, and has certainly been in the runner up for the title of the "Queen of Japanese R&B".

On July 26th, TAKAKO made her debut as a DJ under the name of "DJ Lilly" at the Azabu Juuban club WAREHOUSE. While DJ Lilly is a seperate character from DOUBLE, it is unknown whether or not this will interfere with future releases.

DOUBLE celebrated it's 10th anniversary in the music business by releasing her first BEST album, released on 6th February 2008. It reached #2 on the Oricon in it's first week.

I haven't really listened to much of her stuff since "Call Me" and "Rock the Party" (or is it called Rock the Boat? I can't remember, lol).

So it's been some time since I've listened to her music.

Hopefully, I can get back into her music, and I'm hoping her upcoming release will be good.
