So... my copy of Love Place came today, haha. It is so, so good! It's definitely my favorite album of hers. So many stand out tracks for me. I'm surprised people aren't talking more about Is this love? because I really liked that song. I also loved watching the making ofs on the DVD, Kana is so incredibly cute (and also incredibly thin!) I can tell her voice has matured since her first albums.

The album is good but definitely not her best, imo. There are no real stand out tracks to me and the new songs all kind of sound the same :/
But I like FANTASY, Be Strong and Day 7 the most...

The booklet looks fantastic though, so much better than the Thank you, Love one! Thanks for the scans Mylène

Anyway, my post was weak lol. Love Place is pretty good. It's like all her other albums; I don't favor any album over the other since they all have that ONE song that is just too amazing (Lo-Kimi; tL-Dear; Ty,L-Distance). This one, it's たとえ どんなに・・・ (too lazy to find the romaji). I like Day 7, Is this love? and Honey though too. But there are a ton of forgettable tracks too. Maybe I just need to give the album another listen. But たとえ どんなに・・・ is so gorgeous I might die omg that build up to the first chorus.

It's Tatoe donna ni and yes, it's a gorgeous masterpiece definitely. It's definitely my #1 favorite song on Love Place probably (overall has over 240 plays according to my last.fm library haha).

I just listened to Love Place, and I have mixed feelings. I found that this was her most fun album with all the dancy tracks, it seems like she is really finding herself. But, I think that its too many kinda similar track on one album. They are all really good songs, and produced really well, but I have a hard time remembering which is which. Its also her most... commercial(?) sounding album to date, and I miss the quirky true J-Pop songs that her past albums had. It gave her character. These songs are a tad, but only a tad, soulless. But, I do love shallow dance music, so in the end I really can't complain and think the album is quite good overall. BUT, I still consider to LOVE to be her best album to date.

Love it or hate it, if sales of the limited edition are any indication, Love Place seems to be pretty popular in Japan as most online stores are already sold out. This is interesting because it's only been three weeks since the album released whereas you can still get the limited edition of Thank you, Love pretty easily.

Maybe it's selfish of me to say this but it kind of turns me off because if this sound is what sells for Kana, you can bet it's what she'll do from now on. :/
