At first I thought Ayu should take a break, but I thought if singing makes her happy and she wants to carry on, then we should be supportive with her decision.

So what? Ayu's really important to me. I don't want her to lose her other ear too, but I don't want her to stop singing either. I'm not complaining at all about it... I don't even know what you mean! What are you reading anyway?

I don't get half of what you're saying because it really doesn't fit what everyone else has been saying. I'm so confused! D:

I used to think you were an okay poster, Luv~Venus~, but now I see you as the same as UHPlus kind of.. :\

this news has really made me sad for all of today.

to the people who are constantly flaming each other in this thread, please try to calm down and be understandable towards each other. a lot of people here are hardcore fans of ayu. not only that, she is definitely one of those rare artists that only come by once every decade or two decades or hell even three decades that make such a huge emotional impact on the rest of the world that listens to him/her. if anyone makes offensive comments, try to understand that these people are very angry and confused right now seeing an unfortunate event happen to such an amazing and inspirational individual. they probably do not even mean what they say, and i am sure they would apologize later on once they clear their minds and see the error of their ways.

her active schedule probably isnt any better for her condition, and im sure the healthiest choice is for her to take a break, but if she wants to continue, that is her choice. she mentioned in the CNN interview that she is nothing without her music and without music, she is basically dead. sure there is no treatment now, but with medical advancements these days you may never know what will come up in the future. and japan probably isnt even the furthest progressed in medical advancement compared to other countries (am i wrong? dont really know much about medical current events). i think she continues on with her career because she is not giving up hope and neither should we.

Actually, no one's really expressed anything but sorrow and encouragement for Ayu.. except UHPlus and maybe Luv ~Venus~, who seems to be extremely pissed for some reason. And not because of what happened to Ayu.

truehappiness, the drama is going a little too much, we can go on with a little less overreaction imo

so what if ayu has gone deaf from one ear for god's sake? Her life has not come to an end. I hate this whole nostalgic and pity feeling. I feel sorry for ayu and am concerned for that, but it's not a reason for me to be crying buckets and going depressed.

How many times do I need to repeat (and it galso goes for Luv~Venus~): AYU DIDN'T MENTION THE CAUSE OF HER HEARING LOSS, SO YOU CAN'T SPECULATE IT WAS BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH NOISE. NOISE IS NOT THE ONLY CAUSE FOR DEAFNESS, SO YOU CAN'T ASSUME SHE'S BEEN INTENTIONALY INJURING HER EARS BY GOING TO TOURS AND PERFORMANCES.

No one has said that or acted like that. Most have said she should take a break, some have been stating that if she doesn't want to then she shall do what she feels right. And it's a deaf ear, which won't be healed anymore (unless there will be some awesome healing system) so rest won't do much for her ear. Break to rest her voice and such is a different thing then.

people are assuming that doing concerts/lives is somehow hurting her. I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I think it would be the case if the hear loss had been because of a trauma, but since it's only affecting her other ear it's most likely a disorder/disease and she would lose hearing gradually not matter what she does.

I'm still am an okay poster! I just think you're taking it to far. Seriously, I feel sorry for her but crying and whining about it won't help. Any other time I'd support Ayu but I can't simply support her and the fact that she wants to continue her career. I don't want her to quit but to just take a rest for a while. Even though taking a rest might not help her recover her hearing loss, I'm sure it's a positive thing to do at this point.

So if she drops dead due to exhaustion, you still support the fact that she drove herself to that point?

I don't think UHPlus was acting that insensitive about the situation. Sure his post was little...out there. I'm sure he feels sad and just wants what he thinks is the best for Ayu at the moment.

I think Ayu is probably quite amazing to be so calm during such a time.

She is such an inspiration to everyone. Now only if Japan saw this side of her..

She may not do the best thing, but who are we to know more than her what is best? If she were to say, "I have cancer, but I'm not going to the hospital--I'm gonna tour!" then that would be different. But it's hearing loss. Tragic, but we should be as optimistic as she is being.
