That photo was all kinds of Human Barbie + Venus Angelic nightmare fuel.

I guess that I miss singles, but moreso concepts and effort.
I don't get that from Ayu's releases. Covers have been basic photoshoots for years, and it just feels like she's gotten complacent in so many aspects of her career that she doesn't try to be creative anymore.

On a minor note, I miss her winged/cat eye eyeliner. It suited her very well!

Every release since 2013. Specially the covers. Seriously, they all look the same, I miss concepts or at least creativeness.

When I heard Startin' previews I thought it was a prank, and then when the PV came out I hoped it was a prank...I really did not want to believe that she was releasing that song.

Canceling the Music Station appearance in 2011/2012 (can't remember now) because I was hyped she would be alongside so many of my faves.

How she/her team decided to handle her 15th anniversary promotions. I wanted A BEST 3 or A BALLADS 2 so bad at that time.

basically everything after CDL 10-11 until A SUMMER BEST, every photoshoot after LOVE again (except Colours-era), she performing same old songs all the time (bored to death with her lives nowadays)

I don't know why it is such a sin to criticize something about Ayu or dislike something she did. It's normal. It's only opinions, they can't hurt you. As long as someone is respectful about expressing their disappointments I don't see anything wrong with it.
My biggest disappointment would probably be Party Queen. But I have since warmed up to that album now. Right now Just the beginning Chapter 1 is what I feel the most unhappy with.

I guess Party Queen was also my biggest disappointment so far, from the music to her image, i hate pretty much every thing from this era (with the exception of Return Road).

Same here.
I lost my fandom for a bit after that released ad only regained it after A ONE.

Although I enjoyed some songs from COLOURS (mostly Pray, Lelio, What is forever love, Terminal), it's with Zutto single and A ONE I regained my full interest in Ayu.

Party Queen was the last time I felt in love with her artistry, honestly. Everything after it has been bland and uneventful, save for a bit of Colours.

I think A ONE is my biggest disappointment...
From the covers to the Songs, nearly everything on this release bores me to death!
I only listen to barely 4 Songs from A ONE (WARNING; NO FUTURE; Zutto... and TSMGO)
Even Last minute couldn't get me...

BUT: Cirque de Minuit was awesome!

Sixxxxxx was a really solid work though! Shape of Love, Summer Diary and Sayonara were my favorite songs in a while.

I think it was Zutto... that got my attention too

yeah' you can count sixxxxxx to that era, that's why I wrote about A ONE itself instead of A ONE era...
sixxxxxx (Step by step; Sayonara and Sorrows) saved 2015 for me, even if I don't like the covers also

^ Startin’ is SUCH A STRONG SONG!
Her voice is powerful in that song and I love how she sings in her lower register throughout the song.

When I was barely getting into the fandom that was the first single I was around for, and I remember being upset that her hair was dark... when she actually looks stunning in it!!!
She looked really good in the born to be... and (miss) understood tour visuals with the dark hair with highlights.

i would consider her years from after party queen (i loooove it) to A One. A One is a solid album. I'm actual happy with her music from A One ongoing.

While that might be true, there was a time on here where it seemed people were almost shamed for liking what she was doing.

For me it has to be 2010 and that it showed Ayu's true face in a way. An incredibly foolish person, not being able to treasure herself, love or her fans. I don't think anyone else thought like that, but it was what it was to me. When people said she was too much diva and that others can't relate to her because of that, I believed that she was the normal girl she said she was. But some things she's done (and is doing?) show that she's like a princess living in her sand castle unaware of the workings of the outside world.

I went on a HUGE Ayu hiatus. I didn't want to know anything about any new releases of hers, so I distanced myself from JPop as a whole.
I only came back slowly around the A ONE era, mainly because I started listening to her old songs again. At first I wasn't really interested in listening to newer stuff. I'm slowly playing catch up, but I'll likely never go back to the fan I was years ago. I'm actually quite glad that I didn't have to experience some of the things she did. It's bad enough we have stuff left in the form of PVs and Making ofs.

She does extremely foolish things, but then she writes amazing and true things like what she wrote when she adopted Oreo. Or when she volunteers at areas struck by earthquakes.
There seem a lot more rifts than years ago.
