800k for this album would be a lot, though. I made my prediction a few pages earlier. I doubt she can keep the 2nd week sales so high so that it'll make it to 800k in total.

Considering she almost never had a 2nd week drop better than 70%, that's dreaming.

Honestly, I do believe this album has at least a little bit more staying power than (m)u had. COnsidering how fewer singles have been released and how perhaps if some word spread that the album is quite good (if the general opinion will be that way).

If not then the "Secrecy" promotion strategy has failed. =P

True, the word-of-mouth might still have some power.

We'll see how the second week looks, the album tracks really is different as compared to what tracks has been promoted this year.

If Hikki's first week with ULTRA BLUE was just over 500k and the second week was over 150k, then I predict that the second week for Secret will be quite similar to the second week (after the combined week) of (miss)understood. Around 450k for two weeks is my prediction. (Of course, with that kind of prediction I'm practically begging to be positively surprised after the official second week sales are announced. )

iTunes has less than a 10% share of the digital music market in Japan.

I guess we'll just have to see how the individual tracks do (ie: JEWEL) on Chaku-Uta

I don't think this sales are true, but if they are, Secrets needs to be consistent on charts!

No. Just the certifications (ie: Gold, Platinum etc.) by the RIAJ. I'm starting to doubt that Oricon will even start recording those sales now.
****
On the bright side, JEWEL is #1 in full song DLs on Chaku-Uta and 1 LOVE is #37.

have you ever considered that the sales might increase around christmas, I mean, there could be some who added it to their wishlist instead of buying it now (app. 3 weeks before christmas).
lets wait for the final results

*Auralie*, Japan isn't a Christian country, celebrating Christmas is not a big thing there. Not many families do by what I understand.

Celebrating Christmas is a Christian tradition.

They're trying to make it a tradition, though. The companies in Japan know how insanely much they'd earn of getting a tradition like that going, so they're working on it.

I know they don't celebrate Chrismas as christians, but in Japan, Christmas is extremly comercial, like in St. Valentine so I expect increase...I'm stil wishing! It's free!

It's extremely commercial because the companies are, like I said, trying to get the tradition going. Even though there's Christmas decorations/promotion campaigns everywhere (Panasonic anyone?) and probably Christmas-y CM's on TV people haven't gotten the message, the stores does, supposedly, not sell very much more at all.

The period around New Year's is when sales bump up a little, largely due to the year-end shows.
