Real Emotion and 1000 no Kotoba was her first huge hits from tie-ins, and then Butterfly was her breakthrough after that I believe.. someone correct me if im wrong.

Yes, Sen no Kotoba and REAL EMOTION were her two biggest hits that got her to the top. That's how I found out about Kumi

Well, Butterfly was also one of them
Don't be mistaken. IMO though, I think Sen no Kotoba was what did it...

Since then had had pretty average selling singles sometimes a bit more sometimes less but no really big hits. She has a whole year to try and release another hit. Quote:
Those are the 3 main songs that got her really popular and started the ero-kakkoii thing that got people interested in her to the extent of end of 2005-2006. Butterfly perfectly hit the spot. Alive/Physical thing 1st Week Position: #1 Sales: 32,468 It's kuu's lowest first week sales since kiseki back in 2004 (not looking at Hot Stuff that was limited). I figured Butterfly was one of them since it won record of the year at JGDA I think it was? And then of course Cutie Honey was big (which was one of the first songs I heard that I really liked). I should check out those other songs too then.
