What they said. A forum is a place for discussion, threads are created so people can discuss certain topics so while some might think the things being said are silly, I think it's sillier that people think discussion shouldn't happen in news related threads as that is what they're there for. Otherwise, the news would be posted separately on the main page or something.

Anyways back to more important things, WHATT??? Well, the cancellation doesn't really bother me since I was only planning on buying one version and it wasn't that one, lol. I was looking forward to blossom's PV (probably more than MOON's) as I thought for sure we'd get another beautiful oriental/feudal piece like part of me or GREEN.

I'm very intrigued though, what's Ayu got cooking under her heavily dyed top? It sounds like it could be a short movie or mini-series type deal. I wouldn't be surprised if the tracklisting for the MOON/blossom DVD suddenly changed to MOON/blossom PV + making of or the running time turns out to be like 10 minutes. Oh, the possibilities.... that Ayu. Strangely though, this is actually making me want to buy M/b's CD+DVD version lol. XD Maybe that was their master plan all along. o__o

I'm annoyed, blossom/MOON CD+DVD was the ONLY copy I ordered, so now I have to make another order and order it again.

That sort of makes it weird that there is a "MOON / blossom"-version and a "blossom / MOON "-version for the single :|.

Though I'm not really sad that they cut out blossom PV since I'm happy with just a PV for MOON (which is the song, judging from the previews, that I like better^^).

Good they canceled it - I don't mind to cancel also 2nd CD only. Two version of single that's enough and blossom PV may be released at further album.

i believe that the blossom PV will be released on the next single, 49th..
it's like a tactic to earn more money.. avex somehow knows that fans are eagerly to watch blossom PV.. haha XD

^ For me, the PV /completes/ a song. That's why I've always felt this hole in my heart for }{. Of course, that unsettlingness (I know that's not a word xD) I don't have for album-only tracks but just knowing that it's an A-side and that it could've had a PV, it just drives me nuts.

I'm sure blossom will have it's PV but I'd be really upset if there were no PVs for the rest of this project, though I'm sure it's not likely.

I actually kind of agree with this. I see no point in the blossom/MOON CD version if there isn't going to be a CD+DVD version accompanying it. It kind of seems silly. They should just go ahead and either tack the remixes onto the MOON/blossom tracklists or save them for the next single. One less version is not going to hurt her sales, the people who were likely to even buy blossom/MOON are the ones who were going to buy (multiple copies of) the singles anyway. If people like the songs, they'll buy them. Multiple versions isn't going to change that.

PVs act as massive promo these days, it's different then in the past, but now they actually release music videos for sale, so it spurs people to buy the single more then they normally would want to.

Agreed. Not only this, but PVs open up a whole new market for television marketing. Like music video channels or tv shows give artists more viewing opportunities.

Not only that, but but I remember being in Japan and seeing a lot of billboards showing previews of songs on the music charts with the PVs.

Yup. It's exactly why artists these days in Japan make PVs for album tracks not actually released as singles - to promote the album. That's a fairly new tactic. Ayu didn't use it prior to Rainbow ( I think).

Yeah the first non-single PV was Real Me?

Bit disappointed about there not being a blossom PV. She might do what she did with the Sparkle PV and put it on a later release. I doubt we'll be left with an a-side song without a music video. I'd rather her take her time to make a great PV rather than to rush one in time.

What if it still comes out in July during promotion, just wasn't early enough for press of the single?

It's a very good tactic, too.

It absolutely puzzles me why CD+DVD versions of albums aren't standard in the west. I'd rather a re-release of an album with the music videos included than re-release of an album with just like one or two new songs (that usually aren't that good). I also don't get why they release like one or two singles then the album and then keep releasing singles off of the album. o_o I mean, I get it's to promote the album but at the same time a good part of the target audience has already bought the album so why would they purchase songs they already have? I like that J-artists release all the singles beforehand as it increases the hype because you're thinking "oh these singles are amazing, I wonder what the whole album will be like" y'know? It's a lot more exciting than hearing the whole album and wondering which track you've already heard that they will make into a single.
