When I heard Diva I thought "Jay-Z is having a negative effect on her"

I believe that since he has been with Beyonce his music has gone down in quality so she should sound bad because of him at some point.

Oh please! Don't event try blaming Jay-Z. No one needs to be "blamed" because there is nothing wrong here. Beyonce sounds great, and her music is great. Diva is a great song.

You don't hear his influence in that song? Not to mention that both Bangladesh and Garrett worked on this song with Beyonce and those two have worked on a lot of hip hop influenced songs. That is all they worked on. Bangladesh has worked with some of the largest names in hip hop and you don't hear any hip hop in that song.

I honestly thought after the backlash she got for B-Day that she was going to stay away from these kinds of songs. Even though I don't like Diva, I'm still glad she's trying because I loved "Ring The Alarm", which she also got a lot of flack for.

I liked B'Day too. Some of the songs sounded under produced though, but when I heard that she spent 3 weeks making the entire album I understood why.

There were complaints about there being too much yelling and screaming and woman angst and what an effect Jay-Z must have had on her and her music for it to sound that way and there not being enough soft Destiny Child type songs and girl power and all of that jazz. Too much "Edge" and not enough "Fluffy". Ha.

By the way, Beyonce was on Amtrak today.

OMG! Why the hate on Diva? That song is love. Yes, it's full of noise but it's catchy. I honestly don't feel the Jay-Z vibe in this one. It's more of a Lil Wayne vibe. I really liked the video although I wish shed get rid of the black and white video theme now. I think this is gonna be another top 10 hitter for B or at least I hope so.

Also, I liked B'day but I Am... Sasha Fierce is soooooo much better. B'day has too many hit and miss tracks for me while, IMO, IASF has only one which is If I Were A Boy.

There is NO "Jay-Z influence" in her song Diva. Beyonce has been making RnB and hip hop songs since she with Destiney's Child; nothing has changed just because she's with Jay-Z now. Bangledesh and Sean Garrent make hip hop song, and so what? Sean Garrent also produced for Britney Spears's Blackout album, and Britney has recorded hip hop music herself, so who cares. Yes I hear hip hop in that song; Diva IS a hip hop song, but that was not the issue; the issue was you trying to blame Jay-Z for something that he has no part in. Certain people wish to damage Bey's and Jay's marriage. As I said, Beyonce has been making hip hop and RnB since she was in Destiney's Child, and there is no one that needs blaming because there is nothing wrong here. Diva is a great song, and Beyonce has fans that like the RnB and hip hop music she makes. Some people won't like it, but there are always some people who don't like certain songs on any album by any artists, so this is no special case, and luckily for us all, Beyonce also does other kinds of music than just RnB and hip hop (Radio, Sweet Dreams, Hello, Scared of Lonely), so those that don't like songs like Diva can listen to her other tracks. No one is forcing anyone to listen to songs like Diva. And B'Day was fantastic.

The concept I'm about to explain seems to go over so many people's head when someone complains about a song that they like but I'm going to try to explain it anyway.

Before we realize that we don't like a song, we must at least hear it ONCE. That's right, believe it or not, we actually have to listen to the song to form an opinion. And many do choose not to ever listen to a song again, doesn't mean the opinion goes away and that they forget how it sounds. Thank God no one is forcing me to listen to that song.

I agree with everything except for your opinion on If I Were A Boy, which I have really grown to love. Sasha Fierce is miles better than B'Day, and both were so far ahead of Dangerously In Love it's not even funny.
