It made me sad to see pointless argueing in here. Artcika, I'm surprised you took Yumsushi's comment so seriously. I'm understanding that you are passionate about GACKT and you don't like people undermining how hard or w/e it is for him to tour out of Asia, but I'm sure she didn't mean for anyone to take it as badly as you did. Everyone secretly wishes for their favourite singers to tour near them - heck, what I'd do for an Ayu or MAA concert in Europe - but I don't think anyone wants other fans to think them ungrateful
We do all have responsibilities, and I can understand how expensive owning your own place is...I can't even dream of ever being able to go to London to see GACKT, never mind Japan to see Ayu. When I see comments like Yumsushi's, I empathise, but feel happy other people feel as passionate about their music as I do. I don't take them as a whine/complaint, nor do I wish for anyone to feel as if commenting on here with anything but postiveness will be looked upon as that. That's all I want to say.

The thing is GACKT fandom is doing this this over and over again, I got tired of this, I'm really not someone to go into arguing, i usually just ignore that but that was the last drop for me...I totally understand their frustration, I really do, last summer was the first time for me to see my favorite singer in my life, because none of the foreign artists ever got into my country at that time and I wasn't able to aford going to see them anywhere else myself, so believe me i do understand that side too..But heck I never went on saying that they sort of owe me a concert because i buy their stuff.. Plus we all have things to be responsable for and money isn't growing on trees for anyone...It's just the way it was put that got me on fire. I mean Japanese artists don't have the must to go touring outside Japan, they pretty much do that because they KNOW they have fans outside the country too. I just feel like some people don't really have faith in this man, he never dissapointed anyone, and promises he takes them very seriously, believe me.
the only thing I really wish is for fans to understand not just their own needs, but also try to understand the artist himself and the way things work in the industry before stating things. Maybe i went on too harsh, my brain is overburned latelly because of the stress, but really the way the whole thing was later put into the words was really not very nice towards him. And I as a fan got into a fighting mode, which i actually never do. So I'm sorry from my "going mad" part i could have put it in other way, but really it just gets annoyign after a while...

^ I know what you mean. There are plenty of Japanese artists I would like to have seen that have been to America, and plenty that have been to Europe, but not England. I don't complain, I weigh up whether I can afford to go see them or not, and most of the time I can't. I don't blame the artist that I can't go. I lived about 2 hours away from London last year and it still cost me £150+ to go see him in London. :/
I don't think Gackt isn't touring America because he doesn't know he has fans, like Artika said, it may just not be possible. Europe is A LOT smaller than America. Utada had American albums to justify the tour, and most singers who go there play at conventions. Gackt knows he has fans there, didn't he do that super group performance with other artists years ago? He went to Canada too! It's not because he is ignoring the countries. I think that's the point, not a fan being upset - that's natural. |

I understand there are a lot of frustrating people in fanbases, but Yumsushi did not deserve the brunt of your anger. From reading it, it did seem very like you were taking out all your annoyance at other 'dears' or fans etc at someone who made a comment who *could* of been saying something. Aah, but it's okay. I just didn't want anyone thinking Yumsushi was a bad person reading that last page. They're not.

As for GACKT, knowing him, he'd better make people waith 2-4 years but bring an amazing performance than go for a quick organizing and drop his own standarts. I think that goes for America. Because as far as I've heard from people who actually work in venues at concerts of j-rock artists and who have something to do with that industry they said it's a very difficult thing to get j-artist tour America, sometimes it goes so crappy that bodyguards at concerts simply work for nothing, just because they themselves are fans or want to make other people smile. Promotion sucks as well as sponsoring. Sure there are exceptions but... Quote:
as for the anger, i can't help it..sorry but I can't.... I keep seeing people saying that over and over again, and they just don't seem to listen to anyone, just keep whinning about the same stuff, which doesn't really take them ANYWHERE, if they hate that fact so much, say bye bye to the fandom and GACKT, or try to be patient and give the man a chance. and of course we blame interent on EVERYTHING even though what ACTUALLY was ment to be said is known just for the person themselves.. I'm really not someone to make drama, believe me....

You quoted them, yet I still see a different interpretation. "I buy their CD's, so don't I have a right to an opinion, positive or not?" I don't think they meant to say GACKT owes them something, per se. I think it meant more that her opinion should be treated with more respect than anything; but everyone has the right to dream for their artist to do a concert at their country.
How much I envied american fans of Ayu when she was there so long; and had only been in London a few days to meet with fans. But that doesn't mean I felt Ayu owed me, or that I felt any less happy for those that met her. Although it shouldn't come down to who buys CD's or not, Yumsushi didn't say their original point in any way that deserved such a sharp post back, nor did they write back anything that says to me "I am a whiny fan/they owe me!!". As with you, I've spoken/seen many fans who think as such, and Yumsushi is not one of them. Save your words for someone who deserves them, and needs that reality check. That's all I'm saying on this subject. |

Well I guess I'm really from the other planet.... and obviously I'm misunderstood here too....obviously they won't come here and explain what they meant by those words...so whatever....i'm dropping that topic now...

Wow, £45 for a ticket for GACKT's London concert. I really want to go so I think the only way I can is to dip into my savings. I have to think about train fare and the cost of a hotel for the night. A good friend of mine wants to go too, I got her into GACKT a few months ago~ I hope we can pull the funds together so we can both go!

^ I know, it's closer to £50 with the fees.
I've bought 2 London tickets, £103 x___x I don't actually HAVE anyone for the second ticket. I either sell it a face value online if I can't find someone, or I know two girls who would like to go and I'll sell it to them. I'm not to worried about transport, I can get to London on the coach for very little, and I'll just take the overnight coach back home. |

I don't know if this has been asked artcika, and if so, then sorry for repeating but -- what's the story behind the Gackt tweet in your sig? I've been occasionally reading his tweets, but never stumbled upon that.
Just curious =) EDT: Just to clarify, I know it wasn't you that tweeted him that hahaha
