I've read on soompi France that someone from YG Entertainment revealed 2NE1 would be back in mid-June with a new album, 7 songs produced so far. They quote naver as their source :

2NE1 will be making their comeback in June and will be holding a concert in July! Also, their cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin" is being used in the promo for "The Carrie Diaries", an American TV show that's supposed to be a prequel to "Sex and the City".

Girl group 2NE1, which consists of 4 members, Gong Minji, Sandara Park, Park Bom, CL, has announced that they would be releasing a new album, returning back to be with their domestic fans after a year.
A representative of 2NE1′s agency, YG Entertainment (YG) has told Star News on the afternoon of the 21st that, “2NE1 will be releasing a new Korean album in mid-June” he said. The representative also said that “2NE1′s exclusive producer Teddy has now completed at least 7 great songs (for the album)” and that “broadcasting activities will follow the release of the album.” (i.e. 2NE1 will be going on music broadcast programs to promote the album)
2NE1 last released “2NE1 2nd Mini Album” in Korea approximately 11 months ago in late July last year. From 2NE1′s 2nd mini album, all of their songs such as, “Don’t Cry,” “Lonely” “I Am The Best,” “Hate You,” and “Ugly”, were hits. It is expected from 2NE1 that many of their songs become extremely popular all at once each time they release a new album, thus the news of the new album has led to great anticipation for it in Korea.
A YG official also said that “it has not been finalized if the album that is set for release will be a full album or a mini-album.”
2NE1 is also scheduled to hold a solo concert in July, a month or so after the release of their new album.
Held at the Seoul Olympic Hall over a period of 3 days in August last year, 2NE1′s first solo concert had great success. Since then they have been focusing on their Japanese tour and activities there, thus this concert is highly expected to be where domestic fans can meet up close with 2NE1 after a long time.
YG Entertainment also said, “We will be making an announcement regarding the concert once everything has been determined; we also hope that you have a good summer with the new music and performances that 2NE1 is coming up with.”

Recently, ‘The Carrie Diaries’ revealed their official promo trailer and 2NE1′s version of Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” made the cut.
‘The Carrie Diaries’ is an upcoming American teen television drama following the life of the young Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year as an aspiring writer in New York. The series is a prequel of HBO’s mega-popular series Sex and the City.

Starting from 1:04, you can hear the familiar beats of 2NE1′s own version of “Like A Virgin”. Furthermore, Bom‘s voice can be distinctly recognized as the trailer reached its climax. Not convinced that that was 2NE1′s Like A Virgin cover yet? Take a listen below and hear for yourself!

I'm super excited that they'll be making their Korean comeback in June and I hope the album is full length rather than a mini! I'm also happy to hear that they'll be holding a concert in July as I really enjoyed their first one! Since they've already released their Japanese album this year and they're going to be releasing their Korean one this summer, I hope that this means they can release their US album later this year. Since their remake of Madonna's song is being used for promotional purposes for an American TV show set to be released in January of next year, it would be a prime time for them to make their US debut.

To be honest, I'm not too impressed with this song thus far. The beat and the concept sound so average. I didn't vote in the first two rounds though so I guess I don't have much room to complain. I hope this song sounds better in full since we've only heard short clips. I'll definitely be voting in future rounds though.
