Not her best video but it's nice. The black swan is hilarious And she looks gorgeous with the blonde curly hair.

Yeah. Just weird. Its gaga all over it.
I cant help but think every video she comes out with makes her look more and more like a drag queen.

I think I'm tired of the self indulgence aspect of her entire...image? Self indulgent, self obsessed, etc. It's just not appealing to me anymore...

I mean the entire song is about living for the fanfare. And how she's so iconic and how she's now at the center of pop culture. It's literally just her singing about her, lol.

Sure there might be something I'm missing, but at least on the surface...that's what I'm getting from it.

I do enjoy the mermaid-esque shots. And I don't dislike the song, it's just...I don't know. I think I just miss the Fame era. (which was also self indulgent, but...she was still fresh haha.) I'm still anticipating the album though.

^ I think it was over-indulgent back then as well, but more like she was parodying(?) the behavior that stars usually show.

I think the fame monster has eaten her.

and i want the album too <3

She's singing about how the Applause from her fans kept her going even when she was physically struggling. This song isn't about fame.

Well I didn't say the song was about fame, just that it was self indulgent. But I guess you could argue you can't have fans unless you're famous lol.

And it's not really just the song that I'm forming my opinions on. Her whole -I am art- standpoint is also included in my opinion.

But like I said, these are just my feelings towards the song/her right now.

I know what you mean and I felt the same way before the song even came out (when she was walking around naked and acting weird in that artsy video), but isn't it the same with almost every j-pop and k-pop artist/group?? Namie, Ayumi, Koda... they all depend on their image and self indulgence to sell whatever they are promoting.

I guess I don't mind as long as Gaga releases good music, I loved the video and that's good enough for me right now.

And btw, Gaga looked fucking hot in GMA, so classy and just beautiful, I was amazed.

^ She looked so gorgeous there.

Her whole pretentious-art-shtick is really self-indulgent.
"Pop culture was in Art
Now art's in POP culture in me."

Need I say more? I think she genuinely believe that by saying what she does is an art , it automatically elevates it to an art form.

It's a turn off but whatever I like the song. Lol. I just try and ignore everything else.

Her new song is decent...

Although I personally do not care for Gaga's currently over-the-top image, I just can't help but admit that she's one of the most talented artists today; and she can actually sing. Someday, I hope she will see that she can be amazing without all the clown makeup. While impressive, her theatrics are kind of getting stale. I want to see more of the Lady Gaga who was releasing hit after hit earlier in her career and silencing doubters, not the one who keeps making the front-page for some bizarre outfit.

I FINALLY listened to this song lol with the video. I was putting it off soo much because I really didn't want it to be some...Born this way anthem with a horrible video type thing.

And I'm soo glad it's not.

I really appreciate the mix of mainstream edm with the 80s vocal elements, the goth metal type verse in the beginning that she likes to do a lot, and her Annie Lennox little runs later on! That part is my favorite.

I'm also happy with the chorus. Like I said, I did not want an anthem type thing, and yey. It's not like that. I love it.

The video is fun, which is nice. I miss fun her. I think she looks awkward sometimes, but I also think it's because she shows so much of herself. I also, always appreciate her androgynous imagery.

About her self indulgence...the only reason why I put up with it, is because I really believe that pop music (and mainstream pop music) is an art form, and I don't think anyone gives it enough credit. It's always hard to get the masses to wrap their heads around abstract theories, but I think Gaga makes this message REALLY accessible, and that is one of the HARDEST things for any artist to do.

You can be the best painter in the damn world, but if you can't get people to see your perspective, you'll fail. Art is a two way street, with a relationship between the artist AND the viewer. If you're an artist, and not giving a shit about that relationship, you're just masturbating with your own ego every time you create something.

I remember admiring Gaga for this when The Fame Monster came out. I felt like she had this great balance. BTW pushed me a little bit to where I felt she was getting a little too into herself....but I hope that this era brings us back to that relationship with people today.
