I love Nissy, but his music is always to gimmicky for me (that come from someone, whose favorite song is Kuchiburu kara romantica amongst others)

Nissy was never my favorite and I don't really care for his style... it seems to formulated. Which I love me some good radio hits, but its just not my style, lol.

AAA is a 6 member performance group who debuted in September 2005. Urata is the leader and lead vocalist. The group is also the winner of the 2005 New Record Award for Best Newcomer.

Basically what I understood is that Urata Naoya tried to hit/harass a girl on a Convenience Store on this Saturday, around 5pm, and as the girl denied his "invitation" he slapped her on her face. He was arrested but because it's private case, the police haven't release any official information yet.

It's trending on Twitter so that's how I found out. There's also informations that he was drunk (what was also what people thought when he posted the "love declaration" for Ayu earlier this year.

Edit: It's not sure if it was on the 19th or the 20th (there's difference in different sources). Also there's one article mentioning that Urata said on the testimony that he don't remember.

Yeah, he's done. I'm not sure how the group can let him remain a member after this.

They just announced that the exhibition it was being held in Tokyo「AAA DOME TOUR 2018 COLOR A LIFE PHOTO MUSEUM in TOKYO」is cancelled. I feel bad for the other members

^Exactly. Contracts and other endorsements are now in jeopardy because of his awful behavior. The other members will pay a terrible price as well.

I'm not sure how the band moves forward after this. He is the leader and lead vocalist. Just such a disaster.

Call me naive, but the group could simply exclude him and go on.
He may be the formal leader and main vocalist of the group, but that's simply because he's the oldest member...
Nissy is by far the most popular and successful and imo also the best singer of the whole group.
Afaik Urata Naoya is not that popular and also doesn't have a notable solo career as well in contrast to all the other members.
So while this is bad for the group, I don't see a problem in solving the issue.

^ You make a valid point. If he had some decency, then he'd immediately resign and let the other members try to move on and salvage things.

That said, I wonder if he's put hands on other women before. Most men who hit women tend to have a history of doing so.
