Yeah, but maybe some of her Japanese fans feel like they're being forgotten, especially since Ayu had a lot of overseas fan interaction this year.

I can understand why. Alot of Japanese tweets get one-off replies, instead of extended conversations like English tweets have. There may be many replies in Japanese, but when you really read them, most are just emoticons or one-word replies, like "OK" or "thank you". English tweets are fewer in number, but it's obvious ayu puts lots of thought into her replies. Like when one of you guys asked her about "November". She definitely talks alot more in English, and she even remembers some of your names. It's really sweet for us when we see it. ^^

But if I'm a Japanese fan who's been following ayu for a decade, buys all her releases, attends every concert, tweets her every day etc, but she doesn't even know my name, I'll be really jealous of you guys who got to meet her and have her remember you as a person and reply your tweets like a good friend. I'm sure it happens.

I'll not say more about this, just in case it sparks off another foreign vs Japanese fans war. I'm just glad ayu finds it easy to tweet in both languages and she's happy talking to every fan, Japanese or no.

^ i believe Ayu did explain why she tweets faster in english... if everyone refer to misa's translation of the tweets...

i believe Ayu is still very busy which is why she tweets in english at times, and when she is much more free she tweets back in japanese..

poor Ayu, so busy.. hope she really looks after her health!! >__<

yea it's understandable..
it's like this...
most Japanese fans are able to attend every of her concerts in a year, joining the TA member, joining the TV Show filming, etc....but they can't meet ayu in person..
whereas for US/European fans, they can meet ayu in person but it'll nvr happen so many times, then not all of them can't attend every concerts in Japan..
so i think, both have advantages and disadvantages?
and both already have been so lucky~ I'm so envious!

I'm not siding either Japanese or US/European fans though, I myself coming from a country or even a town which Ayu will never ever come here, because surely, Ayu will always choose to go to US/European countries to have photo shoots or album/single recordings...i don't think that she'll ever come to BALI once again too.. T__T

so I'm happy enough that she could answer some of my tweets which sometimes i spam her n sometimes not...

I just wanna say that there are probably English-speaking fans who are like that too.

But anyway, it's great that she tweets more in English. And about her remembering their names... I think the only names I've seen her mentioned are "Brian", "Mat", "Gigi", "Jorge" & "Aura". Okay, seriously that's FIVE names, not 5000. Geez.

That's 5 people whom she knows as real people, the greatest kind of recognition any fan can get.

And not sure about everyone else, but I'd gladly give up 10 chances of watching her concert live if it means she'll say things like "Hi Misa what a sweet~ miss u (^^)" when I send her a tweet.

Guess everyone will always crave for something they don't have.

I think it's every fan's wish to be recognized/ackowledged by their idol... can't change that lol

One of my favorite bands, Nephew, a danish group, often play in Denmark to completely sold out concerts. They're like; the danish Radiohead or something. But I am fortunate enough to live in Sweden, where they recently gave a small concert in Stockholm, not far from where I live. Because they are fairly unknown in Sweden, there were like 90 people there. 90. Can you imagine how amazing it was for me, a huge fan, to be standing MUCH closer to them than many danish ever will?

I was just lucky, and so are all of the american fans who happens to be fan of an artist not that well-known in that country which they live in. Remember what happened when Ayu suddenly appeared unannounced, what was it, Shibuya? Everything went WILD and she even got fined because of it. She's the same and of course adores all of her fans the same, but she simply cannot have that same kind of "liberty" with her japanese fans, or in Japan. As a japanese fan, you'll simply have to hope that you one day meet her somewhere else.

I don't even expect her replying to my tweet, not to mention meeting her or calling me by name, I'm simply happy I was able to attend one concert, some fans can't afford even that.

However, I can understand why some people get angry or envious. She responds mostly to people whom she met in LA or England, they get several responses while many other fans don't get any. It's ok, Ayu can respond to whoever she wants, but I can see how some people here seem to think that they won't get response because Ayu concentrates on fans from LA / England meeting. It's like you go and get everything (photos, videos, autographs and now tweet responses, MC mentions) or don't go and get nothing no matter how much you try to be the best supportive fan.

I just think some fans are moved by jealous. I'm pretty satisfied with ayu work. As long as she keeps singing I don't care who she knows or replies on twitter. It's very childish to get angry about that =)
