So many great performances. It might be a tie between Dome Tour opening and the Asia Tour version with the ballad intro. <3

Man, I remember the first A-Nation - SO good! I miss when A-Nation was something to look forward to, honestly - this big event in outdoor stadiums, etc. The current Arena 2-day event just seems so...pointless? Like it's not even a music festival anymore - just a collection of artists singing, and often not even ones to care about anymore.

Oh, thank you for those links! I love Ayu's A-nation performances.

One of my favourite years is 2005.
STEP you is normal here, not overly cute as we always get nowadays.
The is this LOVE? performance is SO good and powerful *_*
And Hanabi is wonderful.

There is still a-nation stadium festival tho.

There are some 'hot' acts tho... They're kpop acts but fact is they are cared about in Japan.

^ I guess you're right - for some reason I thought last year was Arena. But they've been slowly reducing them over the years - last year there were only 2 days in one stadium.

Well, the artists represented by avex started losing appeal to the public so it's natural that the event became smaller. I don't care about the k-pop groups but that's pretty much the only artists that are relevant for the audience. Still I would love to go to a-nation! I always love the energy of Ayu's performances.

But even in the first years, a lot of the acts were not exactly at the height of their careers. It was actually a good combination of recently popular (and maybe nostalgic) acts like TRF, Globe, Do As Infinity, etc. who were in their decline as well as rising stars like Koda Kumi, BoA, etc.

I just think the music scene in general was more promising back then. Obviously sales were better then, even with less popular acts, so people were just more willing to spend money on music and maybe give a chance to new artists.

That’s definitely what she meant but she can’t damn well continue to sing those if she were to retire now can she? Lol, sorry I don’t mean that’s to sound like a jerk.

I'm just gonna be a broken record and say I'm really over TA not translating her entries anymore. The new one, from what I can gather, feels very...ominous, or melancholy or something. I think there's some hope to it, but I can't really tell and would really appreciate a proper translation like they used to.

^ Yeah me too, i'm really upset, the funny thing is that they're always promising that the translations will be up, but the more they wait, the more they have to translate lol
Wanna go and try to complain to them via the "letter" page on TA?

I hope she is doing a small TA Tour this year, since I´m in Japan from August till October.
It´s sad enough, that I´ll miss her 20th anni Tour by exactly one month _._

I don't know why this just hit me now after alllll these years but I just realized HEAVEN doesn't have a chorus. It just goes from one verse to another and then another and finally the conclusion. It's a very interesting song structure after paying attention to it!

I don’t know if I’d say it doesn’t have a chorus. It just culminates in the latter half of the song, and repeats there.

Ayu has some songs with similarly odd structures. Like SURREAL for example.

But you’re right, it’s interesting. I think because it’s not that novel for ayu though, it’s easy to overlook.

Oh yeah. Totally forgot about SURREAL as well! I actually really like it and I'm trying to think of Western songs that has a similar structure now.
