Thanks LastAngel. Bunraku looks promising. I hoPe it comes out in England too. I wonder if Gackt will have a lot of lines in the film. Gackt speaking in English must sound so sexy.

By the way, is anyone going to his London concert on Wednesday?

^ I have 2 tickets to the London show but I'm not going, it's a waste of money but by not going at least I'm saving a train fare. I was going to just go, but then I saw the setlist and changed my mind.

Just got back from Gackt's concert in London, so thought I'd give an update of how it went.*

As expected there were plenty of Gackt fans. The queue almost saw no end. Quite a few people were dressed up in Gackt-style. The atmosphere was good even before we managed to get inside.
The venue was like a theatre, quite small in size (probably too small for Gackt's style).

The concert kicked off about an hour later. Gackt came onto stage, and the fans started screaming of YFC (yellow fried chickenz). Gackt had his spiky blonde punk hair which made him look anime-like.

The first song (which I didn't recognize) was a rock number. Gackt had a back-vocal singer with him, making it look like a double act. The guy's voice was ok, but I got sick off him pretty quickly. He seemed desperate to steal the limelight >_<

There were quite a few songs that I didn't recognize. The ones I did were Vanilla, Death wish or Speed master, Nine Spiral, Mind Forest (sadly it was in English), and Jesus.*

Although the music was good, I could hardly hear Gackt, he was drowned out by the music.*

I was overwhelmed with seeing the real Gackt rather than through a TV screen, but I did get annoyed that most of the concert was him posing and screaming while the fans joined in. He did do a strip though (he was wearing a school style shirt and tie beforehand), which of course followed by Vanilla.*

Overall, the music choice was too heavy-rock and not enough singing, the back vocal singer needs to be kept in the back. Apart from seeing sexy Gackt, I was a bit disappointed by the whole experience. The concert only lasted 1 and a half hours, with only about an hour's worth of singing, and then the rest was posing and fans screaming.*

I'll definitely like to see Gackt again, but sadly only if it's a concert in Japan where he is able to perform like his usual self

I so have to agree with you on this, I saw GACKT in Amsterdam last week.. and I really hated the guy that sang 2nd vocals, I didn't like his voice at all and he was imitating GACKT's moves way too much. I figured he was gonna be there for 1 maybe 2 songs, but in the end he stayed the whole concert and that pretty much ruined it for me I couldn't hear GACKT very well neither because of the instruments, figured it was the sound in the venue? But when he sang accapella it was amazing

It was really awesome seeing GACKT in real life, but I barely made it until the end of the concert because I just didn't like it. After the concert I waited at the artist exit and after 1½ hour he came out, and had a chance to say thanks and bye to him, without that other dude... and that was pretty nice, as he looked so good in casual clothing and he was sweet

As for me I'd rather go to a concert in Japan aswell, because his voice is amazing, the other guy just messed it up too much x.x maybe if he comes back next time and leaves the other guy home, I might go again though

That sucks you guys didn't like it that much. I've heard mostly positive reviews (at least from the London show) I don't know why people don't like Jon much? Although someone did say it seems like his voice doesn't exactly fit the music. From the few fancams I saw Jon seems okay.

There is some video of GACKT and Jon apologizing that they had to cancel the Toulouse show due to not being able to get the equipment there on time. I think it's nice that they did that. Sometimes things happen though and hopefully they can do a show there in the future.

Glad I didn't go based on the reviews, just wish I never bought tickets in the first place, aagh. Saved on hotels and trains though.

Seems he played to the fangirls more this year. He did last year with his Lu:na striptease, but he also gave us Kimi ga Matteiru Kara. Was worth the money just for that. I guess he's upped it based on the reaction to what he said last year...

I must admit, I love Jesus, Nine Spiral and Speed Master - but he played all 3 last year, so I guess I only missed out on Vanilla really. Nine Spiral, Speed Master and Dybbuk played together last year was amazing, 3 of my favourite Gackt songs. Why keep such a similar setlist?! A majority of the people this year would have gone last year, not a good move by him. The promise of Vanilla?

I still don't get why he had this Jon guy though, I guess it's because he was so exhausted? All the new songs too. Really weird. Glad he's looking after himself though. I must admit, one thing I remember about last year WAS Gackt's singing. It's why I've found it hard to get back into listening to him, his studio vocals don't compare. I guess with London last year being his first overseas ever the atmosphere factored loads into the quality.

All in all though, glad you had a great time - or just generally the enjoyment of seeing him. Sad for fans in Toulouse.

Aww, SKYia, hope you'll enjoy the show. They might have fixed the sounds there, so that you can hear Gackt's voice, like 2Hurt said, Gackt sounded great in acappella. Please give us a report when you come back. I'm intrigued about whether there's any changes to the set up, and setlist etc.

I was at the concert in Cologne and really don't get all the bad reviews. YFC had fun, the fans had fun. For me, that's all that matters.

@ Jon bashing:
My first reaction to Jon being second vocal: canceling the ticket and wait for next year. But after I saw him on stage, I think, he really fit the setlist and his voice harmonized with GACKTs. It's something new and if GACKT wants to keep it that way, that's fine with me.
