the extended instrumental that we got is pretty much the same thing as the orignal except that the intro and outro are longer. if you start it at 1:12, it matches up with the original song.

I wish I could describe why I like that song so much.
It's all about that guitar solo and middle 8!

@mi|kshake: true, that could be! I think I love the melancholy feeling. I love her songs that sound dreary without being overly obvious in the sad department. XD

Getting so into Ayu these days made me have to change my avatar. I'm hoping not too many other people are using this one.

I really, really wish I knew how to make remixes. There are some Ayumi songs that I listen to and I can hear a really cool remix idea in my head but I have no idea how to make it happen.

I'm trying to find some old threads that already discussed this topic, but so far none.

I also wonder what her secret might be. Back then I couldn't find many theories that made sense to me.

Which reminds me, I really loved the "*Album Name* era concept analysis threats" we had a few months ago and people wrote really interesting theories about lyrics, artwork and misc background info! Unfortunately they are not getting any love anymore

Same here!! I never really cared much for vogue or Far away because I'm not a huge fan of the arrangement I guess but I recently saw an old live performance of far away with subtitles and I just fell in love with the lyrics I think for far away that wavering sound wasn't really my cup of tea but now I know why it's there and why it fits in so well! After listening to it a few times I just got hooked!

Same with Melody: I just never cared much for it but after listening to it while reading the lyrics I fell in love! I thought it was a pretty basic song like meaning of love (kind of ruined RnRC awesomeness for me) but turns out it's super pretty! I'm sad it hasn't been performed

ExodusUK I agree!! I think it's such a wonderful song!! I really like the part when she talks about people being sad and not agreeing to that statement, and that she hopes people are happy beings!

sitara I also loved reading people's analysis on certain albums and concepts. I'm sad that the discussion stopped I think it was because of disagreements but I'm not sure. I wish we could discuss more stuff like that without fighting.

I wonder when Ayu became so obsessed with her butt, haha. She seems to regularly update her Facebook profile photo with new images of it if she can.

Ayumi, unlike her fandom, seens to have a huge sense of humour... And a fairly weird one too.

I could look at that woman's butt all day, I'm not even kidding.

Still sad we never got a big textless poster of the Party Queen cover. Not ashamed to say it. HAVING A CLEAR FILE IS NOT THE SAME.

She does seem like a butt girl... I feel like Party Queen was her revealing a bit of her true self to us. When else has she been so upfront about her butt?

haha, listening to Nothing from Nothing right now I just love it. I still consider Limit to be one of my favorites of hers. I was reading about it, and I saw on Wikipedia that it was written by her. I didn't actually remember that she wrote the lyrics to it. But anyway, I can't help but like her vocals on Limit more than her vocals on most the songs on A Song for XX. Though, I still love a lot of her older music in general. ^_^Was she told to sing with that high-pitched, nasally voice to sound cute, btw? I was just wondering...Another thing I wonder about is whether she still knows those people she did Nothing from Nothing with.

Also, on another note, I know I tend to mention Ever Free somewhat often, but I'd really like the know what the meaning behind the lyrics were and what she was thinking when she wrote it. That song makes me want to cry and yet I can't explain what it is about the lyrics that move me so much. And the video she had in her live concert with the funeral setting is so corny in terms of the special effects and such but I still get chills when I watch it. >.< Something about the imagery is so powerful to me. Yet once again, I can't put into words what I feel the meaning behind the symbolism is, only I think I can understand it.

I wonder if she ever explained it in a magazine interview...

ever free seems like a song she wrote while grieving. Has the same vibe as Last minute and Memorial address.

The general consensus is that it's about her grandmother... Ayu was working when the funeral happened so she never went (if I remember correctly from I THINK the Rockin' on Japan interview), so that explains the vague funeral imagery as a substitute & the guilty tone of the lyrics.

ever free is such a sad, beautiful song. Too bad not many fans know of it since it's hidden away in the vogue tracklist.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's a deep and awesome song. ^_^ It's in my top ten favorites, for sure.

I wondered if it was about her grandmother. That definitely makes the most sense to me.

It's a bit echoey so I'm not sure, but I think it's "Not long now before we exit this dream. Once again, we begin our walk through reality."

It ties into the dreams vs reality theme of concert tour 2000.

For someone in her early 20s as a pop star she really had some out there ideas in these first few concerts.

I think it's much easier to think outside the box when you don't yet have a thorough comprehension of what the box is... Kinda like how children seem more imaginative.
