Urgh, could Avex just hire artcika and some of the other talented people from AHS??!! marekcarey and Tatsuya7 had such simple yet elegant CDL logo ideas and that single cover is beautifully detailed in all the right ways. It seems Ayu's team throws everything and the kitchen sink at logos and overdoes them but often go too simple for cd covers without much thought for font, mood and the opportunity for background scenery...

Why? Variation isn't bad especially if her own team is obviously lacking in the creativity department. Ayu's covers stopped being interesting 4 years ago...

Because most of the time the fanmade covers are just a competition to see who can apply the most number of filters on a fashion magazine shot without any interest on having a concept that isn't a literal translation of the release name or with any knowlegment of visual composition. Most of the time they are also far behind the current trends because the fans are just replicating trends they saw other artists using.

Knowing photoshop =/= Knowing graphic design.

With the last statement - I agree. However I think that just the fact that someone isn't an educated graphic designer it doesn't mean they aren't creative in their own way and that what they've done doesn't look good. Keeping up with trends isn't everything and I think that so many of Ayu's covers have been pretty stale and boring lately. I can't really remember the last time I was WOW-ed. So atm any change is better than the Love songs~Love again~LOVE~again~FTL/MGR color schema and those boring fonts.

I'm quite relieved to read something like that...
I'm not fond of ayu's covers but for once I'm really glad she doesn't take fanmade covers for inspiration... Thinking most of the fanmade covers are better is a bit desilusional (I'm speaking about any artist in general).

I'm not saying people shouldn't try or else, because I like when people try something, and it's interesting to look at other people's works... but don't blame her team in comparison.
On the other hand the CDL fanmade logos I found here where way better than... the fanmade official one IMO! More elegant, more simple (and accurate with the theme... )

So awkward when you are not fond of "overstyled/shopped" pictures. I do not want to be mean, but ignoring is just hard when there are two topics about this. Either way, you are really good at photoshop (without doubt, it's crazy) but the result does not dazzle me, unfortunately. But hey you have fans enough, so whatever.

Sorry for the negativity. Though I am so happy to see people being inspired again. Fan art had been off for a long time.
