^To be honest, I'm not excited either. Her Japanese works have been so much better. I am craving a new single from her!

A question for all you Hikki fans....o.o How long do you think Hikki is going to keep on singing? I don't know...it just seems like she is losing the motivation to sing. Maybe it's just me, idk. I want her to go on forever

^I read somewhere that Hikki said she was thinking of retiring when she's 28 like her mom did. DDD: Ayuta, I get that feeling that she's losing motivation to sing and make music as well. I just feel like after about two more japanese albums, she's done with the music industry. I want her to go on forever too but at this point, if she's feeling unsatisified with the music industry then I don't want her to be in it just to be it. I'm hoping that this english album will give her motivation in music again like Exodus did for her back then. I'm looking forward to this album because I think she'll bring out her best again..like she did with Exodus. That was so good. After 4 years of its release, I'm still listening to it.

As for the Heart Station tour, I'm not looking forward to it right now. =/ IMO, it's just gonna seem weird now that Kazzy isn't gonna behind her tours anymore. Her two tours before UU were great but UU was epik. Her doing a tour will only make me say "I hope it tops UU" which I know it won't.

As much money as she made off all her music, she could retire now and have enough money for the rest of her life xD;;;;

^UWAA! OH NOES! Don't say that! I don't want her to retire now!!~ Although I do have numerous doubts that she'll ever reach her 20th anniversary LOL... Anyhow on a serious note, I agree, Exodus was epicness and a half!

I'm totally with you on this. I dun like her English songs at all... (well I do like one or two, but that's all). Her jpn materials are far superior.

As about her motivation to music. I think her motivation were the max during DEEP RIVER era.. I can't say she doesn't have motivation on HS just because it's a soothing album compared to the rest. And I dun mind she technically did that make two sync albums in a row (UB and HS), since both albums are quite different from each other. Nonetheless, I think it's time for her to move on, not staying on the sync. instruments-driven songs anymore.

I sorta wanna see another DEEP RIVER style album, but I dunno if she will ever make one again, since the music direction between DR and Exodus are quite similar (except Exodus is not well done).

Most importantly, I want her to get a few good directors and gives us better pvs for the next jpn album.. I dun wanna see anything similar to FOL/BW/SG/HS/PoL anymore..

I said it from the beginning way back when that I had lost excitement for her upcoming English Album and would rather she stay in Japan. But I know all it will take is a really really good sample of her first English Single (If she releases one), and then I'll be all excited again. I guess I'm not as excited because English is English and no matter who it is, I always prefer Japanese.

I don't think she was very inspired about being a musician back in FL, Distance and DR era... She said in a interview that Exodus was very good for her cause she couldn't see herself doing any original songs anymore... In the Utada United period she said she was starting to love being a performer and singing live and that before she wasn't very confortable on stage. In some HS interviews she also said that album was very new for her... and that she could discover another kind of music she could do...

I really think that Heart Station is Hikki's masterpiece... Ultra Blue and Exodus were very unpolished... Deep River is good, but her experiements don't go really far there... Distance and First Love are very common R&B albuns...

IMO, Hikki was a very good composer, and with HS she is in genius level... And I cant see she retiring early... to me, she is starting to find herself as a musician and falling in love with her music...

HHAHAHA! You 2 just cracked me up.

I was reading Andrenekoi's thought provokingly deep post and then I get down to Beauty4123's post basically demanding things of Utada and what better happen and what better not happen.

Haha. Such contrast. I found it funny.

:clap What a great post! I totally agree, everything post-DR has been so personal from her because that's when she started doing nearly 100% of the music just by herself. That's why I feel like she's the J-pop diva who is most involved of the creative process.

I loved HEART STATION! I hope she's not losing motivation for music though - that would be terrible. She just needs a bit of inspiration, that's all.

(And I would love for something like DEEP RIVER again. That would such a nice combination of styles.)

I read that somewhere as well, and it made me sad I believe she will release one more Japanese album and then she will retire. I just get this awful feeling. Please don't come true I love Hikki too much. Her music gets me all happy inside and gives me this overall feeling of inspiration. She's the reason i started writing lyrics of my own, and now I have a dream of becoming a singer one day and meeting her, face to face. Oh wow, that would be the day *_* HIKKI, HERE I COME!

HS tour...I want it Though I can't really say it's going to be good vocal wise since her voice is declining a little. So long as she gives it her best, I'm not complaining

If she wants to retire in a few years for whatever reason, then I support her. She has definitely become more ambitious with time, and I still think Exodus was one of her best albums, so I'm hoping for the best with the next English one. I really don't think I'll be disappointed though. I thought Exodus was crap at first but it eventually grew on me so much. I guess I just find HS and even UB a little self-indulgent and perhaps that's why I've never really loved either album. Less cryptic lyrics and generally more accessible (yet still inventive and enjoyable) music seemed to be what was the big draw for me with the albums prior to the Single Collection.

If Utada retires at 28, I'll go to Japan, hunt her down, and reveal to her who it is that's really been putting those bruises on her arm in her sleep and then finish the job. And when I'm done, I'll be taking Kuma Chang with me when I leave. Business!

^LMAO!

I think another English album might spark her creativity, so I think it's good for her. The best thing she can do is whatever she feels inspired to do.

Cori, if you steal Kuma, who will she take pictures of?!
