SAKURA and petal are fantastic. Gloria may grow on me.
Hopefully the next release will be announced soon. |

Zzzzzz.... Oh, sorry, I fell asleep. :/ I hope her next album is more upbeat and dance-y like NEXT LEVEL. This one is definitely very ballad-y and honestly kinda dull. It's more cohesive than Party Queen though, for sure.

NL was such a freakin' mess, though. Like Secret. It was just like a vomit of songs that stuck out all over the place.

NL was a beautiful mess! Electronica is my favorite genre, it was nice to see her poke into it, although it was more sort of an electro-pop experience. I believe she could make a really kick-ass electronica album, if she wished to do so. Truth be told, I'd rather be a bit surprised and have a few messy, ****** songs on a new album, than this old, routine, boring ballad party. It's just song after song which I'll listen to once and then forget about. I like almost all of the new songs, but there are plenty of songs I know that I like and never feel like listening to.
Same old, same old. Fans who are bored with generic, mid-tempo ballads that are "nice", and the fans who adore them. At least there's always something she releases that really makes people happy.

With the exception of GREEN, I think NL is her most coherent album.

What's weird is that I love individual songs off of NL or Secret, but as albums I think they're just sloppy. It's only if I try to listen to either album in order do I realize this: if I have my iTunes on shuffle and a song from either album pops up I'm pleased to hear it. So idk what that says about my taste lol. I do typically like anything Ayu does (save for that veeeery first mini album she released pre-avex) so it's not a matter of musical taste, it's really just a matter of coherency and the flow of the finished product. That's why it took me so long to get into FIVE and why even now I'll regard classics such as Duty with a bit of hesitancy.

Lyrically, I think they're completely different. They do kind of have that same vibe though, I guess. Less Komuro-feels though.

It's to be expected, and is probably on purpose. Both albums are based on love, and I guess this is what Ayu thinks her 'love' songs should sound like.

Love the look! Though Melody is so laidback...
I wonder if I should tune into KeyHole so I can see this, hm...
