At one point I remember searching for coves of Ayu songs but with English lyrics. Most of the ones I found were terrible, but this one girl had made a Portuguese version of HEAVEN and it was amazing! Surely, I had no idea what she was singing so maybe it sounded super stupid to someone else, but I thought it was beautiful <3

There's a Dearest version in Portuguese because it was featured in Inuyasha! It's so weird to listen to lol

I remember catching the end of an episode of Inuyasha in Belgium once and hearing someone else singing Namie's Four Seasons.

"Star Tanjō" (スター誕生, "A Star Is Born") (2004)

I remember reading about a charity album at some point where Eriko was supposed to be covering the song in a studio version...not sure if it ever came out.

Being an Ayu fan is so boring now. if you didn't check this website for a week or something you would have missed like a new PV, 3 different announcements, 4 magazine shoots and 2 Team Ayu entries.

I've been kinda feeling some Party Queen/Love Again vibes lately, in terms of Ayu feeling very...distant? Obviously she's dealing with a lot and depending on those closest to her, but I think for someone like her who has such an honesty or a bond with her fans, it becomes really obvious when she's disengaged or retreating into herself. Like, other than tour rehearsal, I feel like we have no idea what she's thinking/working on/etc.

The memories... I absolutely love the songs from Inuyasha in Portuguese. Every Heart (BoA), Fukai Mori (DO AS INFINITY), Dearest... I guess I was listening to J-Pop ever since I was 11 without realizing it

Wow..randomly decided to listen to the instrumental of For My Dear on Spotify and this version has no backing vocals whatsover, has that always been the case? I'm sure the single copy I have has the backing/karaoke style guide chorus vocals.

I had never listened to that version of Dearest and tbh I really like it. The lyrics are a bit odd but I like the singer's voice and how it sounds more dramatic than the original version.

I know, right!? I think I discovered Ayumi because of that... I used to listen to portuguese version and then discovered there was a japanese version and then I became a huge fan.

Hmm, could it be it's on purpose? That she doesn't want her fans to see her as weak as she is now? Japanese culture is so much about putting everyone before yourself, even with your own health on the line, so that might have something to do with it. Plus, with that long post she, Ayu, gave us through TA or similar, didn't she say that she hid her illness even from her closets friends? That she threw up in the bathroom without telling anyone?

I started listening to Ayu's discography from the beginning while I was working. I didn't get through it all in my day but I listened to a lot of songs for the first time in a long time and just really re-appreciated them:

girlish, no more words, Free & Easy, Heartplace, Not yet, Secret, Red Line, crossroad, MOON, Wake Me Up, snowy kiss

I really should listen to more songs until I remember their names off my heart. I'm much better at remembering the melody over the name of her songs......lol

I'm hoping her next album will be dark with a leading PV that's a criticism of society in the vein of alterna

Just listened to the instrumental both on the original 1998 single and the 2001 reissue and both have no background vocals...

Hahaha so true, I sometimes remember 75% of the song's lyrics, but not the title.
As for forgotten songs, I always enjoy Two Of Us when I remind myself it exists again.
