There's so many connection between YUI and Erika!

- They both have played Kaoru Amane in Taiyou no Uta.
- They both have COZZi as their main composer.
- YUI's song was the theme song of Erika's movie Closed Note.

I'm quite surprised to know that they have the same composer most of the time. I LOVE Erika's music, but I don't really like YUI's. I think it's YUI's voice that I don't enjoy.

For me, it's the opposite. It's Erika's voice I don't like - something about it seems unsuited for music (I feel like she needs more vocal lessons...a lot more lessons). I think YUI ought to stick to singing and her guitar and Erika should remain close to acting, with maybe an occasional song if needed.

i love both artists, but i like erika's voice a bit better, lol. it's less high pitched compared to YUI's.

IMO, Erika's vocals are better. And her songs are better. I listened to Yui and I didn't really like what I heard. Although there was a ballad that was pretty.

it's not such a big deal that YUI got brought up? their both on the same label, anyway.

plus, i don't see any bashings or anything on YUI so i would think it's alright.

YUI's specific genre is acoustic pop/rock, but I'm not sure what Erika's specific genre is. She hasn't released enough music to let me pinpoint the genre, but so far, I get a pop/rock vibe from her. She's definitely more pop than YUI, but both have a kind of "light" voice (if that makes sense). Kaoru Amane is the main reason for their comparisons, right?

Ran away to England again for 'language school.' She's probably staying longer this time. She filmed some CMs and did some magazine shoots during her short time back in Japan. Her future CM filming may be re-arranged to be filmed in England.
