Amuro Namie Announces New Drama Theme Song "Showtime"

Amuro Namie has announced that she will be providing the theme song to the upcoming TBS drama "Kangoku no Ohimesama".

The title of the song will be "Showtime". Although no official announcement has been made, it is likely that the song will be released as the Amuro's 46th single.

The upcoming drama will follow a group of 5 prisoners who plan a revenge scheme for one of the inmates who was imprisoned due to false charges.

"This is an honour. When looking at the revenge plan that unfolds in the drama, I decided to make Showtime a feminine pop song. I am happy that it will add excitement to the drama," Amuro said.

"Showtime" has been described as being an upbeat, catchy party tune.

And at this rate , I'm not so optimistic of Namie releasing a new album before 2017 ends D:

I'm optimistic about it! The description sounds like the type of songs I usually like.



Though what I'd love from Namie is for her to move away from the electric sort of EDM sound, and go back to her R&B / hip-hop sound. They were so high quality. I know that's not "in" right now, but I thought her vocals really worked well with that sound.

That's not really Showtime's promo pic. It is the same photos she did for her tour pamphlets. I think this is her artist profile photo now(アー写)

There was a low quality short clip of the song preview on twitter. It sounds like a more upbeat version of Mint to me.

Just the latest news, that the official site and her FC are getting a renewal.

Alright, the countdown is on the 25th Anniversary Live special site. It goes down to the date of the special live.
The setlist will probably be a mix of her singles and hits.
