ayu always is on the first places of sales and she is not a new singer..now is a classic pop singer...so is natural that those NEW boybands or whatever start with great sales...but nobody can keep her name in the first placer always as ayu

she will get number one for this week im sure. they cant beat her so easily. she is now around 51k they got around 30. for next two days they will get 20 its 50 but ayumi will get some k´s too so she will be around 56-60k, and i think the boyband sales wont be any dramatical high next days...

Sad, but true. Avex probably plans ahead to avoid any Johnny competition though. Maybe the two companies have some kind of deal to have both artists/groups sell well.

not only these two companies, but i think major labels have silent agreements/deals about that. B'z (Vermillion), Mr. Children (Toy's Factory), ayu (avex), KAT-TUN/KinKi/Arashi (Johnny). The former three + KinKi Kids all have no. 1 streaks, while those other Johnny boys are aiming for streaks as well .

I don't think they share great parts of fans, so it's not likely that they would steal themselves sales on the same day. but avex may have an eye on keeping her streak going since even 30k sellers can get to #1 nowadays.

but in this case they may have miscalculated the selling power of shu-whatever. ayu's and other established artist's selling power is quite well-known, new artists are kind of unpredictable in the japanese market (also look at thelma...).

The first part is not absolutely true. Like you say, they have different types of fans. However, when thse artists establish a certain amounts of consecutive no. 1s, the companies would probly wanna maintain it as long as possible. It's not about the sales anymore. It's about that no. 1 statue. Therefore you won't see any artists I mentioned versus each other at all. For example, I just searched on Mr. Chlidren on wiki a few minutes ago. This group has a long no. 1 streaks as well. But if we look carefully, their singles sales were not that strong during late 2000 - 2002. If avex or Toshiba threw either ayu or hikki against this band, their streak would have been gone already. This applies to B'z as well (again during 2000 - 2002). So why their no. 1 streaks survive? You can guess that companies kinda like a have deal w/ each other, so that they don't really touch those streaks.

But your second part is true. Sometimes new artists will give a surprising sales, which could be a threat to those established artists. In this case... I think Shuchishin is not a very big threat to ayu up to this point. Unless they can sell over 40000 during the next three days, I think it's safe to say that ayu will get her 30th weekly no. 1. As long as ayu's coming back with a no. 1, she will not be facing harsh rivals during her release week...

I totally agree with you there. I'm sure she knew damn well that it was risky releasing Guilty when the 2 week sales would be combined. If she cared enough, she would have waited until Jan 1st, so that she could keep her #1 streak for sure.

In this case too, she wanted to release on her anniversary, even though it might hurt her chart position. This really shows that she doesn't care too much about the charts, she's doing her own thing.

Wow... a serious threat just show up. But, IMO, I don't think this shuchishin group will maintain their abnormal pattern. However I'm pretty shocked when I saw their pattern was increased a bit in their 3rd day. But I am pretty sure Ayu will get her other no. 1 weekly, becoz there's no way shuchishin would be able to maintain their luck they got in their 3rd day. And one more thing...... GO AYU!!!

Ahh, Shuchishin is actually maintaining their sales over 10k... I hope they don't sell anymore than that over the weekends... Ayu still sold 4k for today, so if MW sells a little more than that over the weekend, she'll get over 100k!! =)

I'm still doubt, Oricon counted sales (normally) 6 days or 7 days??

Ayu still win with more than 30k copies from Shuchisin...If, shuchisin sales consistently with 10k each day and ayu still sales at least 3k each days...ayu still got her #1...

But, i'm still can not sure with this kind of situation..i hope people prefer choose ayu..
