What do people think of "Dreaming I was dreaming"? I think it's probably her best ballad tbh

^One of my favorite songs by Namie. I think it's the song that really made me get into her.

That song truly is one of her best. It is incredibly sensual and just immersing to listen to.

I think one of her most underrated songs, however, is toi et moi. That one is among my most favorite songs of all times, yet it gets little to none recognition from fans. Especially seeing as it wasn't on an album for some reason (even though it would have fit GENIUS 2000 perfectly, for some reason it was omitted).

It is rumored that Amuro did not want to release this single, as she did not believe in the song's market-worthyness.

^Thanks, I never knew about that rumor.

However, she did not believe in the song's market-worthyness? I find it hard to even believe that she was the one to make the decision of what to exclude and what not to (in the album GENIUS 2000). After all, the single was released despite her supposedly not wanting to release it. But it can be true. If it is, I'm not sure does she mean that the song wasn't good enough in general or just good enough for the majority of public? Sorry about keeping ranting on about this, but how is toi et moi not "market worthy" while some random songs on GENIUS 2000 are? To be honest, I love all of the songs on the mentioned album but they were hell of hard to get into by listening to them for the first time. And not just first. While toi et moi was an instant hit for me.

I'm probably missing something or misunderstanding. Either way, toi et moi is a masterpiece and it's a shame it's being forgotten as it's only on a single and nowhere else.

(btw. I'm not directing this to mizuki-7 as I can see it could be perceived like that, I'm just talking about this rumor generally)

^I can testify to toi et moi's underratedness. Besides some SUPER MONKIES stuff, toi et moi is like the only song in Namie's official discography I never bothered hearing. If its a masterpiece and instant hit, I should probably give it another shot.

^You should definitely give it another try. There's a possibility you might still not like it at first but just keep listening to it as it's really, I'd even go far to say "soul touching" and at least for me, it really evokes strong emotions that are hard to describe. It's such a beautiful song, and I'd recommend that anyone who listens to it reads the translation of the lyrics, too, as they are an important part of what makes this song so amazing.

"Dreaming I was dreaming" was one of the first Namie songs that made me go "wow this chick is good"
And "toi et moi" is one of my favorite songs
The beginning can really put you off, but after you get through taht into the main song it really is a gem

Maybe because the song is oriented J-urban (this song is considered like her first in that style) and at that time she did not want to go in this style direction ? I don't know why but I've the feeling for several reasons that TK pushed her to this style without her consent at first !

^ The official Japanese lyrics aren't even out yet, so I doubt anyone has translated it already.

I really love Alive. I hope we'll get a full version soon

Good Lord, I never participate here
And Yes CONTRAIL! I love the song so freaking much idk why I just love simple electronic pop. And Alive sounded like Zedd's Clarity in a way lol

I really want the album soon! I hope she'll give another kick ass material...and less Engrish songs for me

@terra what's Zedd's Clarity?

@artcika What type of magazine is Numero Tokyo? Never heard of it....

Also, Contrail's pretty good, but I just can't go nuts on it. BBC has grown on me I do admit. However I still do skip it sometimes. And as for Alive, I the preview, but I cant ever give my full opinion til I hear the full thing.

^lol It's a song from Zedd, a DJ feat. Foxes titled Clarity. Even though they're not that similar but Alive kinda give me the same vibe as Clarity does
