I love how Vamps are performing I Can Feel. Faith is my next favourite Hyde album, which is why I'm surprised I'm not more than a casual fan of Vamps.

- 2015 has become the highest number of gigs in both foreign countries and Japan in a year.
H: I do not think so, though.

- Well, I thought you keep pressing the gas pedal to the max.
H: I feel like it’s just ok, hahaha.

- Do you think you could do more?
H: We could, but I would like to focus on making more songs than doing more gigs. I had time to improve myself this year, so if I feel 'okay, I might do such number of gigs. I just wanted concentrate my work in this year. I know I cannot take much time for that, which I wanted to do.

- I think releasing 'BLOODSUCKERS' was a huge event for VAMPS to make VAMPS' gigs more dramatic and dynamic.
H: Yeah, there are many songs that make the audience steam up crazily fast. We joined many metal festivals this year, and we could show the unique part of VAMPS...we could show we are neither a trendy band, nor old styled. So that album is like an invitation for our current style of VAMPS.

- You will release new DVD, which will contain the concert from last May in Japan. What did you want to do at that time?
H: I think that the concert experience was a bit different depending whether you were in a standing area or arena. If you are at the arena, the distance between the audience and us was like ZEPP (small live house style). Even the last people who stood at the end of arena were still pretty close for us. For the standing area, audience felt far from the stage, but they could enjoy more of our unique performance than the arena audience. We wanted to experiment with this stuff in the concerts. In the DVD, you can see more clearly about what kind of concert it really was.

- Indeed, I noticed various things. Like the huge slanted screen showing motion picture arts, and I could see from different point of view from these arts magically mixed with your exciting music.
H: I think you cannot see the whole picture of this gig if you see it only once. Of course you can enjoy at the same time, but you cannot see it all at once...We made it for fans who expected small live house-style gig. But you can see the standing view from this DVD. You can even see from the ceiling camera, so you will understand 'Oh, it was like this'.

- You planned this concert by imagining how you could make the audience enjoy in a big concert stadium.
H: Yeah, our style of entertainment does not use colorful lighting or actions, but simply with these motion arts instead, which is what we really wanted to do in our concert. You can definitely see what VAMPS' gig is like from this DVD.

- Yes, we can enjoy the world of VAMPS, which is beautiful but fierce through each lighting, and the show of stained glasses.
H: Thank you.

- What do you think about the concert when you watch the DVD again yourself?
H: Honestly, I would like to do it again, because we are still evolving. We would like to try the same show style again. Of course, at that time, we did our best and it was the best of us, but I feel that we are now better than that. So, we released many DVDs. Even though we feel that we are now better than in this DVD, I know it was the best performance for us at that time.

- VAMPS LIVE 2015 BEAST PARTY has became your regular summer event. Has it become bigger than before?
H: First of all, it was the first time we did not need to worry about weather. Until this time, we always felt like 'Please please, be sunny', hahaha.

- Hahaha, right. Both in Niigata last year, and Yamanaka-lake the year before, there was no rain during your concert, but before and after the live, it rained. But this summer, it was sunny in the sea and sky.
H: 'This was perfect!’ So, we did not worry about anything. If I were to pick up one issue, it was that the location was close from Tokyo. Usually when we had a live at countryside, everyone gave up to go back home (Tokyo) and enjoyed party after the live. However, this time, many staff members were worried about the last train, hahaha.

- That means the transportation was convenient, wasn't it?
H: Yeah, it was too good to enjoy like before, so it made me sad, haha.

- Hahaha. After that, you had the HALLOWEEN PARTY 2015, which is also your regular event and could be a difficult job for you to organize.
H: This year was also really difficult, just like in the past years. I also had concerts with L'Arc-en-Ciel and VAMPS live at Latin America. So, there were many things happened at same time and it made it hard for us to prepare for the Halloween party. However, we already had to decide whether we would do it or not last summer.

- You dressed up as Tina Turner from Mad Max. It was the only female outfit this year, so was it like a hidden-ball trick?
H: No, it was just because of scheduling. Stage setting really took our time until just before the show, because it was so huge.

- That was really powerful. Where did this idea come from?
H: It was the first idea for the Halloween Party this year. At first, we talked about K.A.Z. using the Flame-Throwing Guitar (Doof Warrior) from Mad Max and then I was thinking about what I should do...Tina Turner, hahaha. I know no one would wanna do it usually.

- Everything was really highly concentrated. I can imagine it was really hard to design different aspects for each day.
H: Not only the costumes, but stage actions are also difficult to design to make a surprise for everyone. But I thought, 'I cannot manage to create surprising tricks every year-.'

- You did this year too, didn't you? Showing up like a hang man, Ciel Phantomhive from Kuro-shitsuji...the audience just panicked, hahaha.
H: We have overcome it, finally.

- You did not only play as VAMPS but also needed to organize every artist... so it could be a difficult job.
H: I didn't actually organize.

- No way, I could see how much you are respected by the other participating artists. Especially, you are the 'god'.
H: Hahaha, I appreciate that. Once the HALLOWEEN PARTY started, it was okay but the preparation part was tricky. In some parts, I needed to see the real performance to know about what would be happening. I was like, 'What?? Why did it take so much time in here??' and it became our issues to improve. Every time, these things happen, so we tried to fix them while performing. I always finished my makeup first and then I enjoyed other artists' performances from the beginning.

-In 2015, you did various live concert in different countries, so you got many inspirations, didn't you? I guess different country = different reaction of audience.
H: Yeah, therefore we should not go much to Latin America, hahaha.

-Why???
H: They were really screaming passionately and being so excited. So I feel like I was being the Beatles.

-Wow, it that's so??
H: Yeah, like 'Hm? Are we really famous like this?', hahaha.

-Is it more than Japanese?
H: Latin Americans are more direct than Japanese. It was the first time that someone kissed our car window.

-That is a hardcore fan.
H: There were fans who ran a few hundred meters to reach our car, hahaha. They are really good at showing their feelings. For instance, I could feel there were 100 audiences even though in reality there were only 10.

-I thought Japanese BLOODSUCKERS express their feelings in a really sexy way, but Latin American fans show them in a more hardcore way.
H: Yes, I think so.

-But why do you think you should not go??
H: If we are welcomed too much, we do not need to improve anymore. I do not want to be like a person who stops trying to improve for the better. I believe I will loose if I think I am totally okay to play in foreign countries.

- How about VAMPS LIVE 2015-2016 JOINT 666?
H: This JOINT 666, of course there are Japanese artists but also we would like to have joint lives with foreign artists to create exciting gigs. It as well means that we introduce them in Japan and they introduce us in their countries. It is like a small gig version of VAMPARK FEST in last February.

- In the meantime, you will join Apocalyptica Shadowmaker UK Tour. It would be a very difficult schedule, won’t it?
H: Yes. This opportunity arose when APOCALYPTICA and we played with SIXX:A.M. at the SIXX:A.M. The Modern Vintage Tour, we talked about doing joint lives. During the SIXX:A.M tour, we met each other everyday and built friendships.

- It would be a very busy schedule if you move different places and do gigs everyday in 6 days.
H: Yeah, but I believe we can do it because we are guests. If we were main artists, it could be very different. It is amazing to have main artists play this level of lives like SIXX:A.M. We could see the world-wide rock band style through their gigs. We, ourselves, also do live performances, but I felt 'wow, they are amazing.'

- Lastly, are you making songs currently?
H: Yeah, I am doing a lot of stuff.

- Can you inform anything here?
H: Well, you will see soon little by little. We are making songs while you do not know what we do, like the collaboration song 'SIN IN JUSTICE' with APOCALYPTICA. We will release songs in a little while, so please look forward to that.
