I feel you Karen. It's sort of sad when people stop supporting their favorite artist(s) due to the fans, who can't keep the hate to themselves.

....actually, i consider "Step & Go" Arashi's "Koi no ABO" if were thinking that NEWS song is by all means "bad/horrible/etc" (i personally think "Koi no ABO" is aiiight, but not horrible). and it's been up & down since then for me in terms of Arashi's music.

but yeah, i think their popularity increased because of a directional change in music, just like how KANJANI8 doesn't make enka music now, but crazy crack songs for singles. not only that, but people seemed to realize they were funny last year as well. LOL. and i've been a fan since "Sakura Sake" (before that, even)...so yeah, it's been really weird as fan to witness them struggling to hit 150k overall to like 500k first week & see changes in their music too. i don't mind change, but i guess i'll forever be an old-school Arashi fan.

i've had the exact same thing with Koda Kumi. i mean, i still listen to her music as a very very casual fan, but like....with each future release i don't get that spark of excitement. she was freaking amazingly awesome during secret/Best ~First Things~, imo. it just sucks that it's happening to me with Arashi.

i had Arashi sets all the time, along with KT ones back then, but that was before i met y'all.

I don't think I'd be into Arashi if it wasn't for "Step & Go". I rememeber watching this clip of Sho's raps and I heard the one from "Step & Go" and was like "I have to listen to this song". It was my jam until I discovered "truth/Kaze no Mukou e".

^Dream'A'Live? Don't get me started. I downloaded the album thinking I'm gonna get more songs like "Step & Go" and OMG, such a disappointment. None of the songs came close to the "Step & Go" vibe to me. I deleted it so fast. And the solos. The only one I liked was Ohno's.

i loved every solo fully, except for........matsujun's i love him and all, but "naked" wasn't as good as the craziness that is "YABAI YABAI YABAI"

To me , Ohno never has any bad solos from the time they incorporated solo works from One onwards

my younger sister & I love Komori Nochi , Kaisei too even though it's a hit or a miss song

I wasn't bashing anyone. I just really don't like Koi no ABO. Everyone knows that I have problems with NEWS sometimes, but I'm still a fan. They're one of my highest played artists, not gonna lie. I just felt that Koi no ABO was a huge step down for them, just like how some people felt for Step & Go. People have different tastes for music and not all opinions are bashing.

And Lisa, you make sense. I totally understand you. Old fans and new fans are bound to disagree because artists change in that time period. But I honestly truly think, being a fan that's not technically old but not as new either, that Arashi has been able to really evolve as musical artists but still be able to keep what made them them. Just like Kanjani8~

And ya, being a big Arashi fan, even D"A"L let ME down. But I got used to most of the songs after while. It wasn't TERRIBLE terrible. ...Well, some songs were bad.

Doubt they'll out sell YUI in order to have #1 weekly again but they're currently #2 so that's okay. Unless Berry K-wateva, sales happen to increase or they decrease by a lot.

those....Berryz...IDK are under Morning Musume, yeah? i think Arashi will get number #2 then. lol. Morning Musume (as well as their many other numerous groups) drop worse than JE singles. i even think YUI's "again" could lose #1 dailies at the end of the week if Arashi steadies out, but i think she'll grab weekly #1 (well...she better, LMAO. "again" is a lovely single, imo).

Yea YUI will mostly likely get #1 since she already is popular and come on it's an anime theme song. But it would be nice for them to get #1 weekly for 2 weeks in a row. Although that doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I can't stand YUI, but congrats to her I guess. She'll definitely have number one unless Arashi has a HUGE, MIRACLE burst of sales this weekend. Which won't happen. lol

i think with arashi, anything can be possibe, lol. i never thought AnK/crazy moon would outsell believe's first week, and yet..they did i think either way arashi will get a top 5 or top 10 position for this week.

I have to apologise for my outbrust yesterday Kaori but for me I didn't like that you have to bring & compare ARASHI against so & so

it just doesn't work especially if the group in question , their music style's so different from what ARASHI's doing

I love it that YUI's kicking their butts now & I don't think the 2nd week sales for Ashita / Crazy Moon's able to top YUI's again which's a great single & I like both artistes so it's a win win situation

It's OK. I'm defensive of groups that I like too.

But she's at what now? 30+k? That's not very much for a first week. Arashi most likely has no chance of catching up unfortunately even if they are about 10k behind. Oh well, at least they'll be in the top few positions~

thanks & yeah I don't think ARASHI's able to hang onto the #1 spot anymore this week . Then again I don't think they have any of their albums & singles that stayed at #1 for more than a week so it's OK

Looks like that there's a high chance that they can get the yearly #1 & #2 singles again <3
