I don't think Hatenai Sora will end up #2 on the yearly chart. Troublemaker was released earlier, so I think they may end up #2 on the chart, but remember that AKB48's Beginner is already #1 in the year, and I think Heavy Rotation could be competing for #2 on the yearly chart with Troublemaker.

i honestly don't know why i'm laughing as i type this, but here's a random find. an english version of mada ue wo? the composers seem to be the same but arashi's version has more in it.

haha, i share the same feeling! that's why i really can't stop laughing, LOL. such a shame that arashi has to be associated with that song. but i'm just gonna pretend it doesn't exist i blame the composers i remember We can make it! had another version from another country, too. i think it was austrailia? i forgot it was something similar to that song, i think.

but i still can't believe that one of arashi's BEST songs EVER has another version like that. on a disney show?!

　人気グループ・嵐の 34thシングル「果てない空」（10日発売）が発売初週57.2万枚を売り上げ、11/22付週間シングルランキング首位に初登場した。嵐のシングル首 位は、1999年11月のデビュー曲「A・RA・SHI」以来30作目。通算30作目の首位獲得は、「IT ’S SHOWTIME！！」（2003年4/7付）で達成したB’z、「Mirrorcle World」（2008年4/21付）で達成した浜崎あゆみに次ぐ史上3組目の快挙。デビュー11年での到達は、B’zの14年半を上回 り、男性アーティスト最速記録となった。

It's the 30th Arashi single that gets 1st place in weekly charts on its first week, it's the 3rd group achieving this, achieved before by B'z ("It's Showtime!!" in 2003)and Ayumi Hamasaki ("Mirrorcle World" in 2008). B'z needed 14 years to achieve this while Arashi did it in 11 years, being the fastest male artist on achieving this.

So it sold more than A.Ra.Shi did on its first week (557K), selling 572K with Hatenai Sora.Also, all the 6 singles released this year, got first place in first week sales ranking. Last time something like this happened was in 2001 with Ayumi Hamasaki singles (she released 6 that year), and as for male artist, in 1985 The Checkers also in 1998 L'Arc~en~Ciel with 5 singles.

This single "Hatenai Sora" is the theme song of Kazunari Ninomiya's Fuji drama "Freeter, Ie wo Kau". In this single you can also find "Ano hi no Merry Xmas" and others...

edit: i'm not really fully recovered yet, but i did find some info on that english version of Mada Ue Wo. that version is sung by this group called Varsity Club, and one of the composers (Drew Ryan Scott) is a member of that group. so he must have re-worked the song for his group, but on his homepage, it's still credited as Arashi's Mada Ue Wo. this guy also worked for Super Junior (the song "Sorry Sorry") and SHINee, apparently. what a small world!

A sudden change of pace? Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari wearing a frog suit in a new CM

We’re here to announce that Ninomiya Kazunari of the popular group, Arashi, will be appearing in a new commercial for the credit card brand JCB wearing an adorable little frog suit! While Ninomiya has appeared in funny commercials for quite some time, the development behind this one is just bizarre. And although he hops to and fro in the commercial, the highlight is definitely his unexpected “ochi”1

The commercial is part of the series whose basic premise is “even for your everday purchases, or when you get the urge to buy everything in this world, bounce around the world and be happy.” In this new commercial, Ninomiya randomly buys a frog suit on the internet, undergoes a series of changes, and ends up finding a buried treasure which changes his entire world.

The commercial may come off as a comedic skit for a moment, he really worked hard on the internet content and comedic timing. In the beginning, he teamed up with the comedian Nakata Masaya2 of the duo, French Toast Stars, to get his opinion on it and work out the minute little details to get the filming done right.

The new JCB commercial, “frog suit” begins airing everywhere the 18th.

although yesterday i was updating the first post in here, and i saw a chart from september or october, i think, and To be Free was still selling like..300 copies. so i've come to notice how long arashi's singles have really been charting. they never use to stay on the chart for this long! it's amazing!

also, these two DVDs are in the top two positions for the 2010 DVD chart!

yes their chart performance on Oricon has improved a great deal

I still remembered seeing Step and Go #1 in the 1st week while it's at like what #9 on the 2nd week LOL D:

Well, that's ugly... Apparently the top nine has been taken up by AKB48 and Arashi, and the final spot goes to another Johnny's artist...what's going on with the others!? For them, they might be enjoying a near-duopoly, but it seems they're not letting the others grab a top ten there! Congrats to Arashi, AKB48 and KAT-TUN, but the rest seems to be out of range...
