marionette was in an AWESOME dress and kind of with nice moves.. And I had a GREAT time, dont get me wrong. Some things were outstanding. Even if it's not as good as other Ayu concerts, Ayu is still like the best performer for me ever!!

So cool, I'm watching the rip now for the first time and I just realized that during last angel, her dancers are wearing the outfits from sparkle. haha. so weird.

Having watched it just now, I must say... I'm surprised. I was disappointed when I first saw the pictures, and the setlist seemed random to me, but overall it was a very cohesive, and entertaining concert. I especially liked the stage, though normally I prefer a standard one, this was a nice change, and the lights were impressive. My only complaints would be the ghastly Humming, which was again included, and unfortunately Ayu's voice. It didn't do the songs justice. She struggled a lot, and her vibrato never sounded more unnatural. I also found it odd when she suddenly stopped singing during Last angel. I might buy this DVD, but I think Ayu should stop doing countdown lives. They're not as good as the tour lives, plus her fans would get more excited about the tour itself.
Fav performances: Last angel, Duty, Marionette, Free & Easy, Endless Sorrow, Virgin Road. |

![]() While tours are more predictable, you know there will be a mix of new albums tracks, latest singles and biggest hits. And you gotta wait months, usually a year or longer, for them to be out, usually there is nothing left to surprise you unless you managed to keep out of info threads and turned off avas/sigs for months. CDLs could bring anything I for one always liked her CDL(with live broadcast) + tour system alot, though she could try to get her tours out before CDL...also CDLs show us the actual state of her voice. The improvement CDL0708(crappy), CDL0809(almost as crappy + loooooots of fishy), CDL0910(definite improvement but singing her hardest songs) to CDL1011(surprisingly good in big parts and even in old, high songs) is impressive.

Uh you don't have to watch CDL if you don't like them, personally a lot of people seem to enjoy them and beside fans of other artist would die for their fave to have a concert as high budget/quality as CDL which is just a one off concert not even a proper tour.
This year CDL for me...big improvement on least year but 08-09 is still my favorite. |

I went to both nights, and it definitely was not as good as previous years. Virgin Road and MOON were half-songs, the ballad medley was a mess. As for the all round stage, it was nice but she faced block A too much and didn't use the catwalk. If I got tickets for block B I would have been so pissed off.
It was still really fun though.... |

I just finished watching the main concert. Visually, it was something different, and, while it seemed a little more low-key than last year, was still nice.
Last Angel, Duty, is this LOVE? With the exception of the verses of Duty, the vocals weren't that great in this section. I had heard that she had difficulty with "Last Angel" on the 7 Days Final performances, so that wasn't surprising; the fact that the verses of "Duty" sounded better than the chorus is hardly surprising either - that's a hard song to sing because it jumps around so much. However, "is this LOVE?" was disappointing; I think those might have been some of the worst vocals she's had for that song. She was pretty consistently flat until the end. Marionette, Free & Easy, Endless Sorrow Okay, I like Ayu doing the puppet-moves and all, but, this time, they seemed to be interfering with her vocals; she seemed to be jerking around too much. Otherwise, Marionette was nice. I really liked her dress. I LOVED Free & Easy!!! ![]() ![]() In Endless Sorrow, she was a bit flat sometimes, but I liked her singing overall (ironically, I think she sang the best when she was spinning the most). More than that, though, she looked BEAUTIFUL! Visually, this was my favorite. Ballad medley Also very beautiful, both vocally and visually. Someone else mentioned that they thought this section was a goodbye to Nagase, and I'd wondered that too when I first saw she was performing these songs. Whether that's true or not, this was a great set. Humming, Bold and Delicious, Mirrorcle World Parts of Bold and Delicious were REALLY flat, especially when she went on vocal runs or had to hold a note for a really long time. Other parts of the song were good and the whole set was fun. I liked her costume/hair much much better in motion than in the photos. SEVEN DAYS WAR, evolution, Boys and Girls, Dream on Fun, but probably my least favorite part of the concert. Not that it was bad, but I've seen evolution and Boys and Girls soooo many other times, and nothing new was done here (though Ayu in the air during B&G was cool). Plus, I was just getting tired by this time. Dream on was a nice surprise (or it would have been, had I not read the setlist already lol). Naoya has a nice singing voice. Overall, I really enjoyed this CDL. It was nice to see some of my favorites performed (I kind of wish I hadn't looked at the setlist beforehand hearing the intros to songs like Free & Easy and Endless Sorrow would have been magnificent surprises) and I liked the different stage. I can't really compare this year's and last year's yet, because I only saw the DVD version of Future Classics and I know that the experience of a DVD version is quite different from the TV version. All I know for sure is this year's CDL was another solid one for me. |

I agree so much on Marionette. She should have just stood there and sang without any emotion until the end... And yeah, Free & Easy was great, and so with Endless Sorrow. I feel like... this CDL is so different, that's is so hard to take in. She seems different too, I don't know how to describe it. It feels like the "sing sing sing do it again" in Do it Again is really a true feeling, because she just seems to be singing and singing without really any emotion... her vocals were excellent, but I watched CDL 2004 - 2005 again today, and something is different... I can't even describe it. It was a solid CDL and her vocals are great, but.. I don't feel any strong emotions. It's a bizarre CDL LOL. Also, it appears she's lowered the key of fly high now... this is the first time to sing fly high in this low key, and I wish she didn't... its boring now LOL. Really, 6 out of 20 songs were sung in a lower key than the originals... hmm... Maybe she just shouldn't sing them. Last edited by maikaru; 2nd January 2011 at 02:54 AM. |

I loved how the clowns kept appearing throughout the concert. XD
Anyways, I really liked this CDL. It's now my second favorite. (PCDL is still first.) I loved the ballad meddly. I also like to think it's like a goodbye to Nagase. It was nice. I kinda wish she sang all those songs fully. |

Someone said that in the first of the two cdl 2010 2011 she didn't do the arigatou screaming and moment of silence or take of her wrist bands but simply Sang a bit of do it again. I think maybe she was saying like everyone expects the same from every concert they expect her to do moment of silence and that may be why this concert was filled with classics because she feels as though no one wants to hear what she has to say right now only interested in what they liked about her aka her classics may e that's why she Sang b&g and evolution in one concert? And ended it with dance dance dance do it again sing sing sing do it again ? I'm not sure it could also be a goodbye to nagase but this is my more somber look on the situation :p I unno

Ayu has 3 main concerts during the year, and all of them have an important role on her career: Arena Tours: Those are meant to promote the album and are meant to attract everyone from huge obsessive fans to casual listeners... She sings the new album singles/tracks and her concert hits. Arena Tours are the most important product of her career, even bigger than her albums and pvs... and as a consequence, they have the higher budget... A-nation: A-nation is the opposite to Arena Tours... Here, the goal is to promote Ayu among people who aren't really her fans, those who went to A-nation to watch the whole thing or fanbase of other artists... That's why A-nation setlist is mostly made of a mix of her most well known songs, summer hits and the latest single, the stuff someone who is not really into Ayu may recognize and like... If someone who is not really into her watch her here and likes it, she may sell some more singles or even conquer new public to her arena tours.... Countdown Live: Finally, CDL.... CDL are made to her hardcore fans... That's why CDL setlist has the most obscure songs of all of her concerts... If someone wanna see a live of an old album track that she never sang or barelly did it, it will most likelly be performed at CDLs... Since CDL06-07, at CDLs she also put the concept and performances of the next Arena Tour to be tested in front of an live audience... What songs should she recover? What kind of outfit will work? Does this performance works on a stage? It's a mix of concert for people who really know her discography with payed reharshal At least, this is how I see those... and IMO, she can't just stop doing any of them, cuz they aren all meant to promote different aspects of her career, and aimed to different people^^ |

I wish she were a little better with Last angel because it's one of my favorite songs, but it's also hard to sing... Oh well, watching the rest.

I love the stage and the one that AYU sits on a butterfly-wing like chair going up and down in the air, it's amazing!!!!I haven't watch the CDL for some time, I have more interest in Arena Tour anyways
