In some people's opinion, her music and contributions to music throughout her career could still make her viable to be the best artist in recent times. Although she hasn't released anything in 2012, if people think her work is still the best and relevant today then she deserves votes for that merit.

I'll have to have a think about this and vote later.

Yeah, either she's a bit too old (at 34 now), and/or she's busy with something else...oh wait - she might have to get busy with CDL and the rest of the upcoming releases (remember: once a month for some five months)!
