tbh I even buy vinyls

the thing is that it's material and will stay even when I die and etc. it's just like pieces of me, saved for my future children and grandchildren. I'm sure it'll be interesting for them to see old grandma's cd/vinyl collection haha.

though actually I don't have many CDs.

Same here, I buy more vinyls than I do actual CDs. CDs get damaged so easily and the packaging in general doesn't bode well with time. I fee like vinyl is the only viable way to 'collect' music still.

Only most of my favourite Asian artists don't release in vinyl so I only buy CDs from them (obviously) but only if I really, REALLY like the album.

I love buying CDs because:

a) I love collecting stuff, music included
b) booklets
c) great quality of music
d) I love listening to albums on my stereo

I've lost WAY too many files over the years. I simply don't trust computer files.

If I like a song, I better have it on CD somewhere or I just don't feel secure that I really have it.

I'll buy mp3s on amazon or itunes for convenience or to support a lesser-known artist, but honestly, aside from that, it's gotta be a physical, professionally-pressed copy.

Only ever bought one CD, Lana Del Rey's: Paradise EP, only cause I wanted to support her. I don't have a credit card yet so it's hard to buy digital music (along with ordering from Asia...)
Maybe in the near future I'll start collecting
And yes, a part of me is traditionalist

None of those reasons! I've stopped buying cds all together, but if I do get one, it's because I couldn't find that artist or those particular songs for purchase or download online, or they weren't on spotify.

I buy them so I can rip them into lossless format (FLAC). If Amazon or other digital retailers would sell music in FLAC format I would probably ditch CDs completely.
