The rest of Japan isn't gay enough.

![]() I don't think her work has gone gayer...Actually, it has somewhat become more annoyingly "straighter" with PVs mainly featuring the love story between ayu and her annoying male partners plus domestic violence lol

She has Lady Dynamite's PV as the top xD
I'm not worried about that yet, but if she does one full gay album I'm sure I'll not like it xD

If anything I get worried sometimes that her overly camp portrayal might be hurting the gay movement in Japan more than helping it. Some of her media portrayals are like caricatures that makes me wonder if her influence is really going to help homophobia long term.
However, I think it's excellent that she works with openly gay people. Japan is a very homogeneous society so I think that the way she works with people of all ages, races and orientations is very awesome. Videos like HBYA are a masterpiece in this respect. |

There are places and people like that portrayed on Lady Dynamite... and they are far easier targets for prejudice than heteronormative gay people. |

I think that gay themes are not the real problem right now.
I think it's really bad how she exposes her private life and mixes it with her career. I mean marriage, divorce and dating her dancer -and all of that in her PVs!!! She's lucky that I love her music, voice and concerts too much :-))

yes, probably
she might support whatever she wants, but I think she eally need to work a lot on her image, PVs, shoots and everything, not focusing too much on that gay community and friends surrounding her. I mean, I feel like she probably listens to them a way too much I want my self-sufficient Ayu back Last edited by ayu_ready?; 2nd April 2013 at 12:41 PM. |

I'm not sure how her latest work is even overwhelmingly gay. She released an entire trilogy of videos having to do with (solely) a heterosexual romance (Wake Me Up, You & Me, and Snowy Kiss). She has some gay/flamboyant background singers and dancers, and some songs about partying that have a gay vibe to them So what?
She's doing plenty to appeal to the heterosexual community, and she's also working to give something to the gay community as well. She isn't alienating anybody, she's simply becoming more inclusive. I don't see why including gay people in on the fun is somehow excluding straight people. |
