it's expected because it's 15th anniversary, so basically most hit songs are gonna be performed. moreover, it's fans' votes and most importantly, it's for her Japanese TA. it's their favorite songs, so we can't expect she would sing the songs that her Japanese TA dislike, example, BRILLANTE.

though i hope the setlist could be longer, i hope for the final dates, it'll be longer.

I wish a few more of my personal favourites made it into the set list, but doesn't everyone? It's not too bad, but it's not something I'll watch personally..I think I'll fall asleep. I think it's something the Japanese fans will really appreciate though, which I guess is the most important thing.

Yeah, the set list is quite short, but I think it's too early to judge for the whole tour. I'm sure the final will be epic!!

Also, tbh I wish she did 2 different concerts for 2 days and perform all 50 songs in 2 days. but that's just a dream or AYU IF YOU'RE READING THIS, PLEASE DO IT FOR FINAL 2 SHOWS AT YOYOGI!! haha

So far I love the set list, but it just doesnt feel like a BEST of yet...
I think as time goes on she will add songs... she does this with every concert sooooo...

I just wish she had something like PCD... that would have been epic.

The point for me is, as some have said, the lenght.
The tracklist is really too short, expecially for a "best tour". I love it, but I'm left feeling "Ok, that' a great start, but where's the other part?" I think that a little touch would make this tracklist epic, just three or four additions, and a lot of changes during the dates, and it'd be truly spectacular.

As usual they probably made the tour longer again, so I don't think the number of songs will increase until the night it is being recorded. Doing it early with a long tour would risk her losing her voice.

The concert that was most surprising and enjoyable for me was PCDL 08-09. And is agree with the comment that the set list for this tour shoulda been similar to it.
I really disagree on the "she barely ever changes the arrangement or instrumentation of her songs" part.

I mean, have you seen the POWER OF MUSIC tour? And then she has also done some acoustic performances during encores of other concerts, for example, "rainy days", "TO BE" and "HEAVEN".
In CDL04-05 there were trumpets in songs that didn't have trumpets in their studio versions and it sounded amazing! And how about "evolution" @ 2007 Asia Tour?
And basically every song on ASfXX/loveppears/Duty has had different arrangements or minor changes throughout the years. Compare 2001 Dome Tour's "AUDIENCE" with the 2007 Asia Tour's performance. They are really different.

And for the setlist, yeah I'm kinda happy with it, actually. HEAVEN + JEWEL = pure eargasm. A little sad that there's no too late/immature/monochrome, but I'll live

Howeverrr... She *HAS* to stop doing the evolution-SURREAL medley. It doesn't do any justice to both of the songs. And they don't even fit together well...

^ Amen to that, A BEST LIVE Finale would be so good!

^^SURREAL~evolution~SURREAL needs to stop immediately, I agree that both songs cannot be put on medley because of their structure.

the only thing I can complain is that it's too short and that she included Voyage ...
I really hope there will be an A BEST LIVE Finale, I want more songs on the DVD/Blu-ray!

a BEST songs concert is indeed a boring concept for an artist like ayumi.
thats the reason one of my favorite concert is the premium live countdown

it would be great if she decide to change the style and the musical arrangements of every song in the set list, like madonna does.

I've got to admit I'm really disappointed with the setlist. Very predictable, very safe. I wanted some really obscure stuff but a) I knew that kind of stuff generally wouldn't get voted for by the Japanese fans and b) I'm kind of expecting another PCDL-type thing at the end of the anniversary year so maybe that'll be where the more unusual songs get performed. I would've loved something like this.

rollin'
Connected
Virgin Road
Return Road
Microphone
kiss o' kill
Marionette -prelude- / Like a doll
Tell me why
Wake me up
NaNaNa
Sparkle
GREEN
part of Me
Don't look back
vogue
INSPIRE
reminds me
forgiveness
HAPPY ENDING

Song 4 u

That's my current ayu playlist on iTunes. It changes all the time but very rarely contains concert staples like evolution, SURREAL or Humming 7/4. I don't even dislike those songs, I'm just tired of them.

Indifferent-- Memorial adress is the only song I care to see and I'm willing to bet it won't be as good as past performances of the song.

Haha, yes. But that's because she already set high standards with the 2004 arena tour performance of Memorial address. It still gives me chills. The emotion... The power... >:O
I don't think it's even possible to beat that xD

Power of Music was one tour. And the others mentioned were barely even anything.

If you compare Ayu to other artists who are constantly changing up songs in concerts, especially their staples...she's surprisingly lacking.

I'm not complaining about it though, because I like most of her original arrangements anyways. But even so. It might be more interesting if she did.

After reading reports about how some songs weren't even performed...I think that kinda hurts too. I'd be a little put out. The list is short as it is.

Obscure tracks - CDL, as it is aimed to hardcore fans.
Hits, staples, recent album tracks - Tour, as it is aimed to anyone who listen to her
Big hits and recent album tracks - A-nation, as it is aimed to everyone who goes to the festival, liking her or not.

Not everyone going to the arena tours know every obscure random track she ever released, it makes no sense on performing a lot of those at the risk of alienating the public. She will most likely keep changing the encore songs as she did a lot of times before.
