I'm homophobic? ... what? seriously? xD

ok, sorry for inserting the fact that he is gay into this sentence (where did I say I expected an ...orgy?), even if he wasn't gay we would probably also hesitate eg because he's Japanese and we didn't know how they see gaijins visiting (but now I'll probably be called 'the person who hates Japanese', right?) or because it was new place and we didn't know if we spoil some private / friendly atmosphere? or because I'm shy and going to unknown place makes me nervous, does it also make me a bad person? you made me feel really bad while I was sharing NICE experience, omg, I just don't even

really people, stop calling people names, you see bad intention where there is NONE

that's the plan for next time, in those two hours he got pretty tipsy I guess I never actually asked him for the picture, maybe 20min after we came in I asked general question 'shashin wa ii desu ka" which would be translated as 'is it possible to take pictures', maybe if I asked again he would agree but I'm not a push kind of person (he doesn't have to be famous to refuse taking photos with strangers) and it wasn't that important to me, it would be nice of course, but my memories are better When we we going back he went to see us to the door and waved and was saying bye bye until we disappeared out of sight.

I don't know if it's camera thing or being close to Ayu that made him seem bigger on stage and more masculine than other dancers or if he just slimmed down since then, but he seemed much smaller than on screen, he was still bigger/taller than me, I'm 1,69 he must have been close to 1,80 - not sure, but he was slimmer, still athletic but slimmer, he had some wrinkles (he always had I think) when he smiled but despite it his face was very fresh and young looking and looked simply happy and rested

^Intention means nothing on this subject, and even so, you said you expected something bad from the bar for him being gay. And yeap, if you said you expected something bad for him being japanese, that would be racist.

I haven't read the rest of this thread, I only read the original post and I have no interest in other people's responses. I'm just going to say one thing.

Glad to know that you learned that homosexuals are non threatening. And that because he has normal pictures of himself on facebook with children and friends instead of, you know, the usual pics that gays have like slings and whips it's okay to enter his bar without being sexually assaulted.

I give up, thank you for reading so much from this sentence and explaining to me what a terrible person I am. Sorry for sharing a happy experience, I've learned my lesson well.

Instead of blaming others you should ask yourself why you and your friend have such prejudices against homosexual men, why you felt the need to tell ahs that you have those prejudices and what the hell made you think that other people would say "sure, it's just natural to expect strange and evil things from homosexuals!".
Prejudice against homosexuals is called homophobia. If you don't want to be homophobic, stop assuming bad things from homosexual people. There is nothing in the world that would justify your assumptions.
And no one told you you were a terrible person. Learn to deal with critic.

I can see why people took offence at the original wording, but I think the point has been made now. If people want to discuss this topic further please take it to PM.
