Memorial Address is GOOD song, it grew on me so fast with the ballad like quality than the rock style!

i totally agree... her music was so much better when she was doing most of the composing. I Am... was her best cd so far, and she's yet to release something that is up to I Am...'s standards. not to say that her latest stuff is bad, but i'm just saying... i think that I Am.. was the height of her artistic side.

i have nuthing agaist korean artist... but j-artist should always come first...

MA was bad... and they knew how ayumi singles(&) forgiveness-NWTS didnt do that great ... why release a mini-album... that would just let alot fans down...

if avex dont do anything about this their no.1 artist will go down... i hate to think.. this can happen...

I thought he did a great job with Memorial Address and Angel's Song. I hope the full version of Moments will be great. I really, really enjoyed the change of style that was featured in the commercial. If she changed to a more aiko-like lite-rock, it wouldn't be a bad thing. Just look at girlish and other lighter rock songs and I think it would be a fun way for her music to go. More alternative to the mainstream, more popular today (indies have been popular lately i.e. road of major, etc.)

From what I've heard on 'Moments' I can honestly say it's not the best I've heard. It sounds like a lame excuse for a song. I've only heard 10 seconds of it though, so my opinion may change.

Someone made a comment about Korean artists making it in Japan. Are you referring to BoA? Because her latest release wasn't even that great. Be the One may have decent beats in it, but it's another generic Pop song. Meant for small amounts of pleasure and then to be forgotten. So I highly doubt they're just spending their time on her. Are there any other Korean artists? I honestly don't know lol.

It may be that Ayumi knows she's getting older and rather than fading out as a Pop star she's going with more mature music? Although if she continues that nasal voice it'll be a toss up as to what she's trying.

I think Memorial Address had good composing. I personally enjoy the song a lot. Maybe Ayu's voice isn't the best for it. Maybe she was trying to recreate the feel of the latest A Song For XX remake. I really don't think people should say "he should be shot" for his job and his gift. It takes a lot of talent to be able to compose a song that is worth recognition by a record company and an artist. Especially someone of Ayumi's status. If I remember correctly, Japan is known for it's upbeat fun pop sounds. Didn't he create that exact feel with ANGEL'S SONG?

I would perfer CREA to come back, but what we get is what we get. So we're going to have to deal with it because complaining will get us no where but another fight.

I agree with you about them not doing well, but then rereleasing them on a mini album. If you think about it though, if they were to put 5 on an actual album and they didn't do very well. The CD itself wouldn't do well. People would associate those songs as being the "best" of the CD and the rest being filler songs.

He composed the song. This isn't even necessarily a 'cover' song. the composing has been used for another song. So they are both different songs, thus there is no cover.

Well, Memorial Address (the album) was really good. Btw, Tetsuya Yukumi did compose the original song. Furthermore, Ayu has been able to use new styles with different composers.

A problem with I am... is the similar style of music. I think Ayu has had a lot more exposure to new styles so she may do better as a composer (maybe that is why she barely composed anything) and can recreate brand new original music.

Puah, Japanese music is meant for the cutesy pop songs and serious stuff, but Korean artists.. no offense.. they sound pretty funny singing in Japanese.. they just dont have that cute little squeaky voice like Japanese do.. but Japan is open to anything really =_=;;

Ayu's been in the music industry for what.. 5 years?? Who's the longest Japanese artist in the industry ever.. hmm, makes me wonder.

MA is good album, I don't doubt that, but I think there shoulda been more NEW songs and shoulda put Moments on there as a 'surprise,' gift to fans. Blah...

You do have a point on the sales factor.


I guess as fans we have higher expectations and for her to get better. For her to get better she's going to have to experiement with other things... so we need to realize that

yes i agreed.... the songs arent bad at all... but
only 3new songs... on (MA) got many fans.. down...
i got all her singles for 2003 and (MA) but many people who gotten the singles would be dissapointed cause all they would be getting in MA album only 3 new songs... avex knew 3new songs.. wouldnt get ayumi to stay on sales for long... MA was more like a single... to does who had the other singles release b4 this mini album....

they should had given us 5new songs... i'm sure MA would had stay longer in sales... rather than only 3new songs....

I know what you mean, I too have all the singles from MA in Jpn ver and still got MA. But I mean...I looked at it from a different perspective, it would've cost me as much to get a new PV compilation dvd anyway, I wasn't dissapointed with the quality of the 3 new songs AT ALL, I was actually much happier with this purchase than that of Rainbow =/

yes i was to happy with what i got... but i cant speak..for everyone... and most fans... and people that like ayumi... were dissapointed..

but i'm happy... i just hope next time we get a full album.... either way i still lov ayumi ^_^

Haha, I want Ayu to compose her songs! Hehe, but I'm not sure whether she's willing to drop her Ayu Cafe show ... because then she can concentrate more on her compositions. Anyway, I still think all the songs sound great so yar, it's just a matter of personal preference.
