but yeah, avex would probably pump up boa as the next ayu.

(btw, ayu is the number 1 tax payer in terms of entertainers, right?)
yes... only in term of entertainer...

she rank pretty good

I'm pretty sure if she left Avex another Music Label would be after her ASAP... and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't 'pump' up BoA. BoA has loss A LOT of her popularity her singles barely reach the top 3 spots anymore. They would probably either try and create another singer with comparably hype as Ayu or try focusing on their other artist like Day After Tomorrow or Tackey & Tsubasa. But one person who I can see making it big is Ai Otsuka she is getting pretty popular...

Avex would fall deffinately, but I don't think any other company does better than Avex, I mean if they created Ayu to become so popular in the first place, then there isn't any other better record company.

yea ayu was the top taxpayer in the entertainment industry or something? hm .. not sure

something along those lines

but its crazy how much influence ayu places in her company ... no wonder she's all stressed n stuff ..

thats why i read in some article that the company is trying to lessen her importance in the stocks or something LOL .. it sounds funny to try and do that .. it seems like ayu is too popular for avex or something ... heh -_-" .. i guess they want some kind of balance .. so the other singers have a share in the company's profit i guess ..

ayu .. oh ayu .. how we love you .. haha

Avex would do fine: not only are they diversifying the music they offer, they also do a lot more besides music these days. http://www.avex.co.jp/e_site/info/group/04_group.html

They used to be much more reliant on Ayumi in the past, possibly to a greater extent than any other music company ever has been.

The question however is a good one: I think if Ayumi wasn't so busy doing so much actual creative work, that she'd consider setting up - and releasing on - her own label (like Maddonna did with her "Maverick Records").

If she left, Avex'd lose money and Ayu'd probably become a recluse and make some weird appearance 20 years later as a haggard, middle-aged woman.

Yeah. Right.

Actually, it wouldn't be much of a difference. She'd still have fans and a career and some label'd pick her up. Avex could find a new "star".

I'm not saying I'd like for that to happen, but you get the drift.

Ayu believes she owes her success to Avex, so she isn't very likely to leave them for another company- if she was retiring, that's a different story. HUSH! ::Slaps self for saying something so stupid "She's not gonna retire!!!"::

Anyway my guess is that... I dunno... I can't really imagine a world without Ayu right now... (O__o)

Or Do As Infinity and Every Little Thing...That'd suck, especially since, except in Ayu's case, the quicker you release, the lower quality the stuff it is...

If she went anywhere she should go to Sony's DEFSTAR Records, company of the Brilliant Green, TommyFeb, and TommyHeavenly...

i read in TIMEasia magazine that ayumi is brings in about 43% of avex's revenues...if ayumi left, i think it would be best for her to have her own record label. like ayu records or something hehe... wow my first post, what do you know!

Ayu isn't going to end soon...hitomi and Namie's been around for like 10+ years and both are still hitting the top 10 very regularly~~
