I started buying her CDs x-mas 2000. I'd learned of her the summer before.

"A Song for XX" only has one issue out there, and that's the thick covered one. It's not particularly rare; i found it at a record store in Las Vegas in summer 2002, three and a half years after its release.

That is because the CD itself is limited to a mere 300000 copies worldwide, published simulteneously with LOVEppears.

actually, the deluxe thick case is a re-issue, the first pressing was a regular cd case, which had avex's old logo (the circle with the a inside)... the deluxe version uses the new logo, so...

wow thats interesting bcoz i have the deluxe one and i was wondering when the avex logo changed bcoz on my loveppears its the circle on and on my a song for xx it was the normal one. i was like huh? how can this be?

When people call "SURREAL" and "AUDIENCE" rare, I laugh because there is this Chinese shopping boutique chain called "Life Plaza" and my gawd....the one closest to me has a LOT of copies of 'SURREAL" and "AUDIENCE".

Make sure the ones you saw are JPN version. SURREAL, AUDIENCE and Daybreak are not limited for overseas version though. They're all over the place, SIG ver. TW ver. or whatsoever. Even if they are JPN version, SURREAL is just first-press limited; however the quantity for the first-press was at least 600,000 judging from the number of copies sold, so it isn't rare. As for those quantity-limited singles, Daybreak is the exception since...

i only have jpn version of seasons. i believe its out of print, but it sold over a million, so its not rare at all

I bought the "Surreal" single off Ebay. Is there anyway, by looking at the case, that I can tell if it's the Japanese release?

Also, I have the red version of A, Kanariya, Daybreak, Free & Easy - first print, and the digipack H edition. In edition I have the small, original release of Whatever. The original releases of Ayu's singles up till To Be are also very rare and hard to come by.

My version of A Song for XX has the old Avex logo, which one is rarer? The original or the re-release?

AVCD-11691 = the japanese release (possibly a rare I'm not sure)

As for 'A song for XX' I don't think it's supposed to be rare, but it's out of print and the one with the old logo would definately be rarer, not to mention the Jpn ver has a thicker jewel case compared to the OS Ver.

appears, kanariya, Fly high, SURREAL, AUDIENCE, Daybreak should be all limited to 300,000 copies.

But Jpn ver of AUDIENCE and Daybreak aren't difficult to come by if you live in a country where Asian music is the norm.

Nessa-> Even easier way to tell, all Jpn ver OBIs have the retail price tag in yen and a date in which it says it will be in print I think. The price is never on OS Ver CDs. If you have the actual disc, around the disc, the text should say where the CD was manufactered.

I wouldn't waste the money on it as I'm not a collector. I only buy singles if it has a song not found on albums and I like the song (I hate remixes). The only single I plan on buying is & for the theme of a-nation '03...

i wonder why in the world avex made only 300K copies of some singles but others they made a whole crudload of cds. were they experimenting to see if that created high demand? it doesnt make sense though; if more than 300K could be sold, why shouldnt avex just print more copies?
grr.. im just mad because i want fly high and audience but theyre out of print, both JPN and OS.
