So I'll just make sure to never ever say "Crea!"

Actually, I always thought it was "Cray-Ah" but its probably "Ku-ray-ah" or whatever, the japanese pronunciation.

Head hurts! LoL!

I've always thought of it as "cray-ah". (or "ku-re-i-a", "ku-re-i-ya", etc.)

Yeah, same. I don't doubt that something like "Cray-ah" is more likely, but my mind processes it as "Cree-ah".

That statement makes no sense. First of all, its not a japanese word. It's made up of english letters.

Japanese style word: Kanariya

English style word: Crea

If it were to be pronounced in english, it would be most likely pronounced "cree-ah" and not "cree" Because ... english just isn't like that at all. But if she pronounces it as ku ray ah then thats how it is. Although its probablly more like kraya, they just have a hard time dropping the "u."

Just because it is made up of Roman letters, doesn't mean it's not Japanese, just lok at the song SAKURAドロプス, with that logic, would you think that Sakura was an english word and drops was a Japanese word?

I think SAKURA is really an english word and ドロプス is katakana so yes it's japanese word.
And the song should be called "sakura do-ro-bu-su" sakura drops is the english translation.
And katakana is a language of english words that are directly pronounce as japanese.
=.=" gotta get confused too.

Come to think of it, Crea should be a english word since japanese words doesnt starts with "C" and it was written as crea and not other words.

But Katakana isn't used for Japanese words, only foreign words, mostly english, the only time Katakana is used for Japanese weord is for, like, titles of Manga, so It stands out...

Katakana isn't only for english words, but for other languages that the words are borrowed from as well. ..like buranko no? (swing?)

And most japanese has spanish sounds/pronounciations like the vowels. In spanish, it would not be Cree, it would be creh-ah.

I have never even thought about it, how it should be pronounced, I just say it (if I even ever say it...) in a very finnish style.. Like the beginning of "creative" but a bit longer "e" there.
